This is the type of awful revisionist history Victor was talking about. It'd be no different than saying the Giants would be favored in a rematch of Superbowl 42 because of how their D-Line was playing that week. It's a total joke.

The trial bothered Kobe so much that he played great vs a very, very good T'Wolves and Spurs team in the two rounds prior to the finals? Cool story.

Yes, one superbowl or two years of nba finals, exactly the same.
01-30-2011 , 07:57 PM
Check the data post-sheed trade. That team was very, very good. they mighta had the best PD/SRS after acquiring sheed, but I'd have to double check.

They mainly got lucky that Cassell got hurt in the WCF and didnt have to face the t'wolves.

They had the 4th best SRS (better than the LOLkers) even when you're counting the entire season.
01-30-2011 , 08:04 PM
They also had the easiest schedule in the NBA and one of the easiest of era and SRS is skewed by blowing out ****** teams, so there.

TuT,

I think it's relatively obvious that a correct neutral field line for the Pats/NYG would've been like NE -1 or -1.5. No way are they even a FG favorite let alone 11 or whatever they went off as.
01-30-2011 , 08:12 PM
They were also 6th in SRS the year after with a full season of Sheed. You guys can twist it all you want but the fact of the matter is, "the non-standard championship team" thing is just kinda dumb because it was a huge fluke and might not happen again in our lifetime.
01-30-2011 , 08:17 PM
We found TuT's least favorite team!

It does look like his worst year statistically.

Detroit was a really ****ing good team. They took SA to 7 the following year and could have easily won that series. That SA team was better than the '04 team who lost on the Fisher .4 second shot. Saying the '04 finals were a huge fluke is ridiculous.
01-30-2011 , 08:34 PM
and that laker team was really ****in good too. prime shack. more developed kobe. karl malone who was still very effective on a per minute basis. his ts and and rebound% were still excellent. gary payton led the team in minutes and was still a fine player.
01-30-2011 , 08:37 PM
that was not prime shaq, shaq wasn't the best player in his team the following year

Not at all. I was strongly rooting for that team and also the following year vs. the Spurs. I consider Ben Wallace and Chauncey both hall of famers. They weren't close to as good as that Lakers team though.

Classic 41 pt 0 assist loss for Kobe and the Lakers today
01-30-2011 , 08:42 PM
I don't even know who's arguing against me.

I think it's fair to call any year up to 04-05 still part of Shacks prime.

What the hell does draft status have to do with how good a player can become? How else are the Wiz going to use them? Are you really blaming Flip for using what he has?

And did you mean they'd be better off as bench role players on this team, or for their personal careers? I'm assuming the latter. So if it is the latter, how can Flip get banged on for that team losing so much, when it has no talent?

You basically have to go out of your way to have 0 assists in the triangle.
01-30-2011 , 09:37 PM
Or have Ron Artest go 1/9 and Fisher 1/6.
01-30-2011 , 09:38 PM
Fisher is a renowned flopper.

He deserves to go 1/6 with the calls he got in that game.

Place him in an episode of Entourage, and he's the best actor, hands down.

No, my post had absolutely nothing to do with Flip

i havent seen any discussion about the Pacer firing Jim O Brien. Anyone fans of Frank Vogel? How does this affect the Pacers moving forward?
01-30-2011 , 10:28 PM
apparently there is a good chance the pacers hire mike brown.
01-30-2011 , 10:28 PM
Greg Monroe best player in the 2010 draft.
