Victor is best known as a depressed Clevelander who sometimes posts biking and/or hooker stories. A true loyal fan to the Cavs, his anti-Jamison rants are enjoyable to read. #2 in post count, Victor is a strong #1 seed.
Etats is a good poster who is thrown in with the large amount of (quiet) Knicks fans. Again, it's just an issue of volume, since TZ could use more Etats.
Vegas thinks this 1v16 is a no brainer, and it's no disrespect to Etats. Victor-15.5.

Speel Posher vs. Chilltown
Speel took on a lot of volume last year, and as the lone 'Wolves fan, was sorta like that commodity that people whispered around the halls but didn't want to spook away. He's a good poster who has tidbits of Minnesota lore to sprinkle throughout the thread, and seems to engender a mid western calm that is rare. No one has ever made fun or teased him, because frankly, he never has deserved such an injustice.
Chilltown is the king of .gifs. His participation has weaned a bit, probably because he's so tied in with the Raptors. Another Tuq hater, it appears that w/ Tuq's disappearing act, Chilltown has decided to disappear a bit, too.
Chilltown is polarizing. Some people find his humor funny - it's certainly derisive, so sometimes he rubs the mods the wrong way. On the flipside, Speel is like frozen yogurt - vanilla of course - that is always enjoyable, but you generally want more. Vegas thinks Speel has the edge here, but the Old Guard may reckon back to Chilltown's glory days when he was far more active, making this a close(r) fight. Speel-5.5

Fallen Hero vs. Franchise 60
FH is a Euro Spurs homer, which is just odd. He isn't really a homer though, as he SEEMS impartial. Last year he was a bit more passive, but it appears he's more aggressive this year, attacking a lot more and getting into more confrontations. I didn't realize how much his posting volume had picked up - he was a big mover/shaker this year!
F60 doesn't really post much in TZ compared to the rest of SE. In many ways he's a SE legend, but in TZ, he's not. A Knicks fan that is relatively quiet, he has more of a casual fan attitude and generally resorts to posting .Gifs. (He has dubbed himself king of the gif)
Vegas thinks FH is the superior poster in quality, quantity, and intangibles, and although F60 would win in any other thread, this is TZ, and FH is the boss in this matchup. FH-12.5.

mjw0586 vs. poisoneye1986
mjw is the yin to Greear's yang. both are detroit fans, but they couldn't be any more different in the way they convey their fandom. Basically, mjw is reasonable. (you can conclude whatever you want about greear)
mjw has many feathers in his cap, and his latest one is being the one to actually organize this tournament! he deserves a dap for that, ofc.
Poisoneye is a relative newer poster who came on weakly (last year, iirc). He's rebounded as a quasi rookie/sophomore, and has a bright future ahead of himself for TZ. It appears he just enjoys basketball and wants to learn more, so you can't hate on that.
however, this is like Ohio State vs UT: San Antonio. It might be close until he first TV timeout, then it's runaway city. mjw-25

SchererBoy vs. <3_Tha_Grind
SB gets a lot of flack, and a lot of it is deserved. He's a Lakers fan who lives in NY. *UPSTATE Ny, too. In many ways he embodies "lakerfan", which is a dreaded label to anoint any poster. He's a homer, and I don't even think he cares that he's labeled as such.
In year's past, (specifically the playoff threads) he was a prime candidate to be banned multiple times, since he basically ran his mouth and never provided substance. To his credit, he has improved, and I don't think he's on that level anymore.
<3 tha grind is one of the best lower seeds in the tournament. A Chicago fan, the dude churns out high quality post after high quality post. He doesn't troll, he sometimes is funny, and although he divides his time between the NHL and NBA, he doesn't have scorn for fans that favor one over the other.
He's kinda like the Richmond or Butler of the tournament - a lower seed who is simply better than most higher seeds. Does he have the expectation of a final four or win? absolutely not. But he's a big favorite as the lower seed here, as Scherer is +10.
D104 is a Phoenix fan, and one of the few Suns guys whose posting has not waned this year. (Cough Tuq Cough) A bright fellow, his greatest contribution to the thread is basically anything Nash related. (It may be artdogg actually who keeps posting the Nash highlight videos every 3 days or something, but my spider sense thinks it's D104)
He thinks San Antonio Sucks, he hates LA, but generally just loves good basketball, even with the Suns struggling. Another solid reg, basically.
Chim is a nuggets fan who is like a born again christian after this mello trade. He has tickets to games so it seems like he never posts during game days anymore, and i think generally that has cut into his volume posting, since it's a surprise he's this low seeded.
everyone recognizes the monkey avatar, but vegas has to give D104 a slight edge due to overall volume; D104 -3.

Bitchface vs. Bill Murphy
BF is, how do you say, bi-polar. Or maybe he's just schizophrenic. He has tons of gimmicks, he sometimes is banned for horse porn, and likes to take every angle of an argument and just play devil's advocate. then he'll flip flop and argue the opposite, just to argue. then he'll troll you back if you get on his angered list. then he'll flip goal posts on you, but then claim you flipped goal posts. then he'll troll you again, disappear for a few days, then emerge as 5 other accounts that all say different things, confusing the **** out of you. in many ways, BF is like a puppet master, cajoling emotion out of randoms and then completely mind ****ing them over. he still doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
at his best he's great, at his worst he's awful, and this year he's done a lot of both. in year's past he's been around the post count lead (except for 2 years ago when he disappeared to china and we all thought he was murdered) and i suspect if you add all his accounts he'd still be there today. but we have to attribute his bitchface posts to bitchface, and well, you're left with one of the most compelling TZ figures.
unfortunately for Bill Murphy - a speel posher clone - he runs into a buzzsaw here. Love or hate BF, he's too valuable to not go far into this type of tournament. So although Bill is one of the few Jazz fans (where is stumblequake?!?!?!) on the board, and he is fully positive, he's a low volume dude who wont have a cinderella run this year. BF - 16.

charder30 vs. Dschmeidreu
Charder is a maryland fan who makes his loyalties known. John Wall? Great point guard. Anyone who played at Maryland? Obv NBA caliber. He likes to involve Haralobos in debates, which I suppose can be seen as a positive. He likes to make sweeping generalities, too. That said, in general Christian is a decent guy who strangely has gotten into more arguments then most other posters.
Dschm is a laker fan who has nearly completely vanished this year. From a post count leader to almost out of the tournament completely, it leaves us all asking: Where did he go? He is most known for strange word bombs, pounding his computer and screaming at anything non laker (and sometimes laker), odd caps and of course bringing his girlfriend into the thread. I think we all can agree the thread is slightly worse off without him, so obv his APM is positive.
But charder has more content this year, obviously more quality, and so should roll. Strange to see dschm flaming out in the 1st this year, Charder -8.
Greear... Most of you love him. I don't get it. He doesn't post content, he trolls relentlessly, and frankly he's a moron. Maybe I just don't understand him.
Dukemagic IS a good poster, who is best known as our TDG. A LA/Warriors fan, we can simply dub him Mr California. Hey, he played water polo too, that's super california.
Vegas though understands the thread loves Greear, and its vegas lines, not my own. So Greear will win in a landslide, -15.5.
Aaron is a surprise TZer this year, and I think he actually is technically a rookie? If so, McLovin has competition for the ROY award. Aaron's NBAing has picked up immensely, and with it he's brought his fair share of controversy. This post was pretty much the harbinger of what was to come:
Quote:
but i guess im less intimidated by threadzilla because even though i know less about the nba than most of 'em, i know more about basketball than pretty much all of 'em. so i got that goin for me, which is nice.
With this, we all witnessed the 1st Clark vs Aaron fight, which has led to many other struggles this year. TZ GMs. And so on. At the end of the day though, Ae is very very funny and has brought a lot of content.
Unfortunately for him, he's going against TZ darling SirOsis. Master of the photoshop, Osis has cut that down a bit, but is still the favorite Portland fan on the board. Osis is an old wily vet who has always been able to make deep runs.
Osis should generate a lot of fanfare and Aaron has turned off a lot of his potential fan base, so although both are fantastic posters, Vegas actually thinks Osis is the favorite in the matchup as a lower seed. Aejones +5.
Clark is probably the alpha mod. When he's in your target, you hate him. When you're not, you probably love him. Lately he's been kinda a bitch because of all the Bulls success (you'd think he and Aejones would bond over their love for the Bulls) but just because of some recent slippage, his history of work this season is obviously quite positive.
Artdogg is in the Phoenix contingent of solid posters who are basically somewhat depressed this year. From an out-of-nowhere conference run to an out-of-the-playoffs no run, his content, volume, and quality has slipped slightly.
Clark rolls, -14.
Epeen, epiangleshooter, "dumpy", Josh, celticfan... Epi has a lot of nicknames. He's most known for the total lack of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and generally coherence, but TZ wouldn't be TZ w/o him. To Epi's credit, he takes a LOT of ribbing from a LOT of people - funny enough, i think the celtics fans are the hardest on him. (Seth, Colin, me) Epi definitely stresses bulk over efficiency, but for him, it's solid.
Schwallie was a Cavs fan, now is a Heat fan, and will be a Bulls fan.
I like the schwall balls, but his lack of loyalty is disturbing. And apparently he's not even from cleveland, so wtf?
Epi advances, although since he has engendered a lot of hate along the way, it wont be as smooth as other 1st round matchups; Epi -7.5.
Burke started strong and completely flamed out. He's an IRL friend of mine, so I wont say much, aside from the fact he went from an awful Heat poster over the summer/in the preseason thread to a solid-ish poster the beginning of the year, to completely not posting one iota.
Noze is NozeCandy. we love his stories. we love his wit. we love his loyalty to Chris Paul, David West All Star, The Hornets, and the City of New Orleans. He has a strong case for a deep push, since he's a pretty damn good poster. (Even though he got a little creepy about all the stuff about my sister)
Noze - 16.
ANOTHER solid Phoenix fan in the mold of d104 and artdogg, I kinda view all 3 of those guys as slightly above average, generic volume, affable posters. It's a shame I can't really distinguish any of the 3, other then I like all of them a bit, but can't really recall any major contributions.
Kos is a Dallas fanboy who I think has the mavs avatar. Or a horse, in any event. I thought he was far more active when discussing fantasy stuff.
Kos does love Dirk though, and insists because of the Mavs record w/ or w/o him, Dirk is the MVP. That's his main gig.
Kos, as the lower seed though, is a slight favorite, although this figures to be a classic Phoenix vs Dallas playoff matchup; Westhoff +2.

Assani Fisher vs. sailorsaint
Even though Assani has cut his volume off SLIGHTLY this year, he's assani fisher. Mr I double fist cranberry vodkas. he is probably the most talked about poster, and that's impressive on a board with Greear, Clark, and Untouchable.
Sailorsaint is a quiet Boston poster who is just too low volume to have any threat here. His major contributions to the thread are 25 year old Walton stories and random bar crawls in Boston. I love them, obviously, but that's not enough to stand a chance vs assani.
Even AF haters have to give him the nod for a few rounds, he's just farrrr too valuable. Assani Fisher -23.
The proud Australian vs the unhappy portlander. McBeef is mid volume, positive content, with the occasional OT rec league story. I enjoy those, although I know others don't. He's the more likable Buck fan (over MEB) and we all cringe for McBeef when Bogut got/gets hurt.
TSC is better known for his contributions elsewhere in SE, where he has like 60,000 posts. He's generally angry and a little bit mean, but I think people that make fun of his posts (the common thing I've read is "you have more posts than anyone but no one remembers a single thing you've said") are a little off base. You need to appreciate overall volume, even if it's inefficient bulk.
McBeef is a solid favorite though, since TSC does far more of his work elsewhere; -9.
