This sounds awesome. I've been wanting to do summer league for a year or two now and this just gives me another reason to go. Any word on how likely there are to be games this summer?

Isn't everyone but Miami a dog to win a championship in the next three years?

19pts Update on TZ player of the year Austin Daye:

He currently hit a dagger 3 to probably get the win in Miami.

Seriously, I could just hug anatta every time I read one of his posts.

No. It's harder to defend a pnr w/ a quick pg that has range/can get to the rim, than it is to guard one w/ a SF that's fairly inconsistent from outside. What's the point of keeping felton if he's just going to be a spot up shooter? They could trade him along w/ whoever else for Melo if this is the case.

I don't think Melo is going to change the Knicks enough to trade wilson/fields/gallo.

So you're saying that the Knicks really wouldn't be able to retain Chandler AND sign Melo?
FWIW, the only reason I replied to your initial post was the poor thinking (or absence thereof) underlying it. You basically went: omglol ESPN, NYPost contradicts you, lol ESPN. Rationally, if you have two sources of info on a topic, you might want to, you know, get more info before getting all hyperbolic. Cap room and FA rules aren't hard to track down (or ask about).

Barring other transactions between now and then, even if the current CBA remained in effect the NYK couldn't resign Chandler and give Melo a max contract. They can probably do one of those two, but not both.

The new CBA will render that particular analysis moot though.

he just got soulpwned at the rim by james lol jones no less on any ez game winning layup/oop.
01-28-2011 , 10:54 PM
and he gets raped on a backdoor dunk to win the game at the buzzer...whatever, more lottery balls.

Maybe Carmelo will take less money to play in the mecca since he knows he can make it all up through endorsements.

uhhh...did you watch the replay? jones raped his right hand on the dunk attempt.

as a cavs fan how are you even watching basketball games?
01-28-2011 , 10:56 PM
also gotta consider that his bitchass wife may divorce him and take half if he doesnt mecca it up so like implied money or something.

not to take anything away from your homer rant but the kid didn't even ask for a call, he was just like "****, that didn't go well"

homer rant? dude have you followed any of my posts this year? I want the Pistons to lose lol....

but to give that call to eddie ****ing house when he wasn't touched the posession before and not give Daye that call when Jones got a ton of his hand is pretty silly.

Marvin Williams is gonna get a suspension

i didnt watch the replay.

but, ofc, lends even more credence to my cavs getting screwed was a systemic policy of the nba. im thinking specifically of the indiana game where a phantom call against lebrons team in that very situation (in bound oop at the buzzer) decided a loss for the cavs.
01-28-2011 , 10:59 PM
oh great, basketball players fighting.

I think Vic's right. Melo has that wife of his (Lala) in his ear about going to NY. I really hope that fool has a nice prenup in place.
01-28-2011 , 11:00 PM
I only saw one replay but it certainly looked like someone on the Heat just threw his body into Daye when he was in mid-air

lol you choose the best attacker of the rim, in the league as your example. Nothing like pointing out the exception. In case you haven't noticed, Melo doesn't run the pnr well w/ the ball in his hands. The defenders can sag off, and live w/ him shooting from the outside. He's to good at going to the rim and forcing fouls.

Felton>>>Melo w/ the ball in his hands in a pnr (w/ Amare obv)

i wasn't paying attention to that, but it prolly occured too. there was 100% contact with Daye's hand.

should he of still made the shot despite it all? yah for sure. I think the biggest cause was he caught it too far away from the rim. Something getting bumped could of helped cause too though.

Daye is gonna be really good.

Yep, moot indeed.

John Kuester has been drawing up excellent plays at the end of games. He's finally playing Monroe and Daye a lot, so I assume there was some sort of plan there. I'm a fan of Kuester, I hope they give him a chance
