What "big name" is desperate enough to go there? The team's roster is not promising.

Well, much will depend on whether they feel that Williams can play the 3. Then, what to do about Beasley?

Now, if they took Kanter, and he was a quality big, then things could get interesting.

I would take Kanter and hope for the best.

Not sold on this inferior DWill character.

I don't know. They've got some interesting pieces there. Davis/Johnson/Alabi (maybe) could be a decent core of bigs. DeRozan seemed to figure a few things out last year. There are two big questions there. Can Bayless figure it out and be a good player with consistent minutes? And, what the hell to do with Bargs?

They've got the 5th pick in a two person draft. They likely won't find a star, but they should be able to get some depth. (Draftexpress has them taking Kemba, bypassing Kanter. lol)

All that, and you're probably right, there may not be a "big name" to go there. But I think the job could have potential. Plus, you'd have KBFC and IH working for you (unless they got swept out the door too. I hope that's not the case. )

Jonny Flynn arguably just had the worst season of the last 30 years, so that's not saying much.

Add me to the list of Rubio haters that still think he will be better than Johnny Flynn.

Why not beasely off the bench.... He can guard lots of backup 3s and 4s.... He cant really guard many starting ones

Also he's good at bulknscoring which is more useful when the top players are on the bench.... I'd think he'd be a top 25min/ game player

man rickrub is gonna get the haters so mad when he starts crushing

I'm rooting for Rubio, but believe his chances of being a legit starting PG are very low.

If the lockout lasts ~20+ games, gotta be pretty good odds Shaq comes back, right? Takes a couple months to 'get in shape' then plays sparingly in 30-40 games then is go time for playoffs

I wish Mike Brown came into the LA job with guns blazing like Brian Clough (Martin Sheen) did to Leeds in The Damned United

"the Lakers aren't real champions!"

dennis miller?

question for TZ:

I've seen posted around these parts several times a list of the best players ever at their peaks. It's usually only a couple of people though, and looks like this

MJ
SHACK
Bron
...

Anybody interested at taking a crack at a top ten players of all time, judging them by their peaks? (and maybe specifying when the peak is if it isn't immediately clear). i don't know as much about this as a I would a career-achievements-greatness top ten, which is not that hard to compile.

Time off has never been Shaq's friend when it comes to getting in shape.

Also throw me on the Rubio haterz list.
06-02-2011 , 01:17 PM
Ya shaq is just too lazy to get in shape during Time off.... If he didn't do it this past year, with a chance to come back and contribute major minutes in a title run, hes never gonna do it

Why?

He has been almost irrelevant for years. He is too fat to really hold up well. Retire in peace. I hope he's done. I hope he doesn't become even more of a side show than he already is. The odds that you get a healthy Shaq for a playoff run are slim.
