Knicks have best announcer AINEC. Who else here's vocabulary is 10% due to him?

Disagree with this. Oden has MVP potential still.
Depends on how you define "potential" imo. If you are referring to "possible" then I guess you'd be right but I have a hard time saying a player has MVP potential when he can't even play a full season without going down to injury. I believe this to especially be true when it comes to big-men and bad knees. Too many examples to chose from.

Oh and yes that goes for Andrew Bynum also. You can already see how much his two knee injuries have affected his ability to jump.

edit: Don't bother. As I scrolled down I saw Tarheels basically said the same thing. One of these days I'll read the whole thread before posting a reply. Anyone have a cure for laziness?

+1

JB showing that he is a Threadzilla neophyte with potential as he's swooping and hooping.

pretty easy to say he was injury prone in hindsight, but it was not a large enough concern at draft time for him to fall past 2

idk, but it's pretty much 50/50 as williams does the road games and ej does most the home games

Walt Frazier is pretty much the coolest guy associated with the NBA. There's nothign not to love about him. Great broadcaster, sick wardrobe, very high WIM as a player. The guy is like the NBA's version of Shaft.

racist ban

clyde got nohin' on lawlor, and Breen is basically the biggest douche in nba broadcasting. He's good enough at his job to not waste Clyde's effort and puts them firmly in the good category.

Dschmeid test for "legit contender" --> You know it when you see it

Similar to that famous legal case where the judge's definition of obscenity was "I know it when I see it"

Yeah, agree with this. They easily made what was the correct decision at the time.

Breen is one of the best play-by-play guys in the league without any question. When he talks about things he can sound pretty dumb, but he's terrific at actually calling the games.

Ya obviously that makes sense. A player should never be hacked to death and every player has a right to feel safe on the court regardless of talent. I guess LeBron is so good I get tired of seeing him turn opposing team's defenses into layup/dunk lines and was trying to figure out a way to put an end to it all on my own.

to think I thought I was onto something.

i'm a celtics fan. I get the tommy hate and he even gets on my nerves from time to time. Gorman is one of the best in the biz when it comes to pbp, though.

Breen is a fkn douche. I know he's good at his job, for the most part (sometimes tries to hard for the big call). But he's still a flaming douche who lets his hate of certain teams shine through. Namely any team that's not the Knicks or the Lakers. And frankly, he seems to hate the Knicks now, too.

if you like the heat broadcasts you fail.

i still need to pump out my player ranking list

given the size of the task, and the fact there'll be a ton of middle guys I don't really care too much about, i might limit it to top 100 best and worst. I'd release it 10 at a time from both lists.

The hate on the Lakers has been persistent, but Dschmid has been resistant.

Re: announcers It's been years but I still miss Chicky Baby. I know life goes on but I can't get into Joel Meyers or their radio guy Spiro Dedas (sp). I just wish someone new and fresh would come along. Joel Meyers has the flair of of a Nissan Sentra. (sorry Sentra owners)

Of course I've listened to the TNT and ABC guys but haven't listened to many of the local TV guys with the exception of Ralph Lawler. He's entertaining but I can't get over picturing him as a loser since he's been the Clipper's announcer for so long.

and while both Reggie and Cheryl deserve to be gainfully employed somewhere it's not by a nationally televised network.
