I have an idea that would be awesome and wish I could implement. It's probably not original, but the gist of it is an NBA game film program that lets you tag each possession with the pertinent info. So each possession would have the teams, time, lineups, how the possession started, defensive assignments, plays run, result, etc. It could be as broad or granular as you want.

I'm sure being able to call up every play that fits x, y, and z parameters would be valuable. I'm guessing both teams and gamblers would find this useful, so something like this is probably implemented by people way smarter than me. But just to play around with that sort of thing would be awesome.
