I downloaded the Better Basketball series and there's a part on post play with Jermaine O'Neal.

It starts with O'Neal talking about how the NBA game plays and how you need to love contact to play the post. He then goes on to display a dizzying array of fall-away jumpers from the post. Fail.

fwiw this is why i complain about playing near the hoop, 2 games of 3on3 i had to guard shane in the post. im giving up 4 (or 5) inches and 75 lbs. its just not fun.

also, shane, your little righty baby hook (you normally shoot it off your left foot turning to the hoop, but you turned right 2 or so times over the 4 games tonight) is VERY effective. it's a shame we couldnt get you more of those shots playing 5s (our teammates were NOT the passing kind...)

jermaine o'neal wants to teach you the TAJ too, so that you can be hard and powerful in the post - rewatch those vids, imo.

What a beast 7 blocks just completely stuffed kenyon martin at the rim and about a minute before martin tried to dunk on dj and backrimmed it.

Bobbo lent me The Jordan Rules, and I'm about 2/3 through - i'll finish on the plane back to the best coast tomorrow (including a lovely layover in phx) - and it's completely lived up to the hype. I think my current favorite thing to read about is people who reach the pinnacle of a field, while remaining fairly dispicable otherwise. I can't ****ing stand ******ed idolatry, and it's at the point where I think I actually prefer my heroes to be insufferable pricks, going back at least as far as Beethoven.
