The deal signals a shift in Mr. James's strategy. Mr. James formed LRMR in 2006 partly to garner endorsement deals for himself and other athletes. The firm will still seek to land deals for other athletes, but LRMR Chief Executive Maverick Carter says the firm is now "not terribly interested" in finding more deals for Mr. James himself.

Instead, it will focus on expanding his career in other areas, especially the film business, hoping to build on the success of a recent movie project. The McDonald's pact was an exception, Mr. Carter says, because it means Mr. James now has ties with what LRMR considers the most iconic global brands: Coca-Cola Co., Nike Inc. and McDonald's.

I've been saying all along that LeBron isn't leaving Cleveland. I didn't think the endorsement thing is a legit argument. However, I do think it's legit that he'd rather live in Manhattan or one of the nicest areas in NJ right outside of Manhattan than Cleveland. He'll also become more of a global icon in New York instead of Cleveland. You seem really insecure about him leaving that you feel the need to post stuff like that.

I doubt this.

I bet he would rather live in his hometown with his family and friends than in Manhattan really.

well one of the main arguments for lebron leaving cleveland has just been smashed to bits.

now all you can cling to is that the nightlife and city is better.

haha dunno. I mean none of us really know him, but I just have a feeling I'm likely correct on the fact he would rather live around all his family and friends and his own neighborhoods and towns, etc.

He's getting by by outmuscling smaller opponents currently. He is a very raw player who really isn't very athletic. He's also a poor defender and a bit of a headcase. The potential is obviously there, but whether or not it is ever realized on the NBA level remains to be seen.

i just dont get how someone with all these flaws is able to produce at just about the highest level of all time in college basketball.

I'll trust ur guys judgement on Wall, since I don't know much outside a few games where I've seen him play. His team is stacked, and I remember being much more impressed by Durant his freshmen year, but I guess it's hard to judge different positions and styles of play.

As for CP3, he's definitely a penetrating guard, but he has tremendous court sense (which I'm not sure Wall or Rose have) and HOF passing ability which I love in my PGs, which I haven't really gotten the impression of in Rose or Wall.

I'm also partial to guys like Nash and Billups, who's skills from the PG spot don't act as substitutes for dominate wing scorers, but rather complement or facilitate their offenses with great 3pt shooting and assists.

Is it pretty much a consensus among regulars here that Wall is a better prospect than Rubio (or any other young PG outside CP3) at the moment?

Wall has looked pretty rough lately. I think the expectations for him are a bit high.

see, we dont watch much college basketball so we just go by what the draftniks and media tell us. wall has been hyped for years now. some even tyhought he would contend with lebron as the best player in a few years.

these opinions have been tempered recently tho.

He's not. Kentucky has had a really weak schedule, and you obviously don't understand the differences between college ball and the NBA.

Really won't surprise me either way wrt where LBJ goes after this year now. I was def in the LBJ leaving camp back in 08, but my main reasoning was if Cleveland didn't give him any help, then he'd run to NYC.

Now that they're obv making an effort there, and the Cavs are going to win 60+ games two years in a row, I think he's a favorite to stay. But I still wont be surprised if he leaves given how much he seems to love NY.

Gimme a break, neither one is dominant at the NBA level and Tyler Hansbrough and Robert Traylor say hi right back at you. Dominance in college does not equal dominance in the NBA. This is especially true when the dominance at the college level is due in large part to a physical advantage that that player will not have in the NBA.

even the most of the top NBA players weren't that dominant in year 1 especially the really young players. Blair and Lawson have been way above the curve for rookies and would be better if they were both given more minutes. There are hardly guys like Tim Duncan who are so mature in their first years in the pros that they really dominate. Most rooks are good but not great even for future HOFers like LBJ, Wade, Durant, Dwight...weren't that spectacular. They were very good, excellent rookies but hardly dominant.

i expect wall to come in good, but i don't expect wall to come in looking like Cp3 in his 4th season.
