Horford to Sixers! Wow didn't see that coming and makes the Tobias contract look much less bad. It's a shame Simmons is terrible and a major net negative in the playoffs.

Can we all now laugh at all the seadood posts where he said the Knicks won the porzingis trade because they had “cap space”? He forgot they were the lol Knicks and couldn’t do anything with cap space.

I'm wondering if it was a good money decision for Horford. $109M over four years is $27.25M per year.

He opted out of $30.1M next year.

Was he really not going to get at least $78.9/3 if he signed a deal next year (average: $26.3M)?

I suppose Horford just wanted to lock up as much money as possible today.

Tobias contract won't age well either imo. They're paying 4 years for a 2 year window which seems fine. Need to yolo when you can yolo

I would've preferred to just max out Butler + Harris and trade one of them in the summer if need be. Giving 4 years of near max money to a 33 year old Horford who had a down year is meh. 33-34 years old is the age where most NBA players fall off a cliff, yikes.

Horford may or may not be a great contract, but so far Philly's moves are better than maxing Butler.

Sixers were so good awful with Embiid out. This fixes that issue for the next few years and helps out big when Embiid misses 20 games due to being tired or hurt or has stomach issues.

Team is missing a closer but d is on lock. Need Richardson or zhaire, matisse, Scott to give them something. They also need a backup PG.

Market set it a deal at 4 years. Bet he left some money not taking it from sacto but 3 teams at least were willing to give him 4 years. Betting sixers were the second highest but best chance to do something in the playoffs.

I think Horford ages as gracefully as Tim Duncan.

Would Philly take a first from Boston to work a Horford S&T that lets the Celtics have the full MLE, something the Nets weren't willing to do with Kyrie, apparently?
