this is a thing about basketball that people constantly harp on that i don't really agree with.

westbrook is way less of a zero with this roster versus last years roster. he isn't gonna be 90% of the offense (less energy remaining to play defense) and the help defense is just exponentially better going from abrines/oladipo/gibson/kanter to PG13/Melo/PatPat.

fine, maybe opposing teams just relentlessly attack the westbrook melo PNR, i'm sure there's relatively easy adjustments.

to just say westbrook is a zero on D ignores all the team dynamic stuff that leads one to either be a zero or not a zero.

Yeahhhh bolded is really interesting. weird to not have your defensive juggernaut in Roberson but that might be the best lineup.

Knicks have read the 2018 draft list correctly

Enes Kanter and Doug Mc Dermott are amazing assets this season, that's a great deal

Melo cost 10 wins and 25 shots for Staps and Frank every game

against which playoff teams does not having a legit PF even matter?

the only teams with multiple competent bigs are spurs, nuggets, pelicans (dark horse).

dont feel like melo having to cover those players is too much of a bummer, or realistically just playing PatPat more.

OKC won't be able to afford all 3 next year but will be stuck with Melo at $28mm. They were longshots to get both PG and Russ back, but just gave up any chance at all.
