Speaking of money under the table - how common do we think this is?

Being a dallas homer there's not really a doubt in my mind Cuban has given dirk more than his share for all the team friendly deals he's taken over the years

Yeah and the standard is 4 million according to Shelburne. Saw that he got offered 2/yr but yeah

Also per the recent postion discussion

"kyrie Irving is a top 5 asset and Danny Ainge is a top 5 GM" - Brad Stevens
07-06-2017 , 01:28 PM
Lmao

Honestly I checked to see what move Orlando made that I missed when I saw that line. That's like 10 off, crazy

Stevens used to say there were four positions, ball handlers, wings, swings, and bigs. I think Boston is going with the strategy of not having 7 footers who are only centers unless they are elite bigs worth close to the max or cheap bigs on the rookie scale or a small contract. They might overpay for a short contract that preserves the flexibility to make trades.

Hayward would have needed to take 300k total, or per year?
07-06-2017 , 02:43 PM
Doesn't even matter. If he makes them give away a player for 300k he is a confirmed loser.
07-06-2017 , 02:44 PM
Per year.

For the Celts to keep Smart and only have to get rid of Rozier.

Duncan made a good point about the Kings signings. Said in a year that teams are really going to be looking to unload rotation players that are overpaid and attaching picks to them so they can avoid luxury tax payments. Would've been better off just signing some vets to 1yr deals and maintaining the flexibility to stockpile picks.

Guys like Carroll, Mahimni, RAnderson, Deng. Teams are going to be willing to part with 2 firsts to get rid of some of these guys.

Clippers sign Milos Teodosic, keep love city alive, officially the greatest team of all time

all. the. time.
billionaires do whatever they please, unless they're literal dictators, they're above the law worldwide

Sounds like the C's will be trading Crowder in a sign and trade with Utah. Probably could have guessed that after his comments last season when C's fans cheered Hayward at the garden.
07-06-2017 , 04:49 PM
Haven't really seen anyone that reputable reporting Crowder to Utah.

If true, gotta think that's just a case of Crowder not wanting to play more minutes at the 4 and that is primarily where the Celts wanna use him with Hayward in the mix. Also, just less mins for him in general.

Dealing him just doesn't make a ton of sense.

Boston should definitely be getting an asset back for Crowder

Can you name former NBA players who significantly adjusted their shooting technique? He's been shooting like this for most of his life. That's not an easy fix.

With only 3-4 (read 1) contenders, should anyone give up picks for anything?
07-06-2017 , 05:44 PM
Mavs close to signing Dirk to a 2/10 deal with the second year being a team option. Not sure why we don't just pay him quite a bit like last year, unless we are going to try and sign someone young with the saved money. I would think we could pay him more and still sign nerlens.

I cut him some slack bc Martin is the worst offensive coach I've ever seen, but dude was like allergic to good shots. Also don't love his jumper's form, he seems too off balance and feet too close together to ever be a dead eye shooter.

Rabb was a way, way better basketball player in college. I know pros are different, but still

teodosic makes clips probably the 8th seed, bad news for grizz/blazers/pels

Pretty sure dirk has cushy income for life. Dirks kids probably have long term jobs too.
