NBA Draft 2017 NBA Draft 2017

If I'm Boston I snap and run right? Next year having 2 picks inside top 3, year after another lottery sounds like a pretty good deal. Having 2 tickets to the doncic sweeps is pretty good.

Yeah, f'sure, i totally agree. I just think the sixers are still in such a strong position (health issues aside) that they really should just spin the wheels for the max.

So (your numbers) 5% Donicic is >>>> 10% #1 in 2019 and downside of 40% #2-3 imo.

But that can, pretty obviously, be complete trash - maybe Doncic isn't all that, maybe the #1-3 in 2019 suddenly reveal themselves to be at the Doncic/Porter/Fultz/Ball level.

Interesting debate in any case.

Maybe not 2 picks in the top three - there's some chance my Lakers wriggle themselves free of the bottom 5. We have MagicTM.

But the bold is why it's great for Boston, poor for Philly.

He would be higher in a regular draft. This draft just happens to have like 5 good pg prospects 2 better PF prospects and multiple wings that are good prospects ahead of him.

Fultz is the perfect fit in philly. 3 picks is alot to give up for him, but i can understand why they would do it. He is the perfect scorer to put alongside Simmons and Embiid. Sixers are going to have scary potential with those 3 as a core if that trade goes down.

Obv would be a great deal for the C's who are already stacked at guard and can grab Jackson. Ainge always stockpiling picks seems like.

edit- Reading more into it sounds like it may be just one extra pick next season rather then 2 picks. We shall see.

Also some rumors are saying they are going to deal the extra picks to get Jimmy Butler. How entertaining this could be.

Woah.

Steven A. Smith said on ESPN Sportscenter tonight that the Celtics are going to package the picks and deal them for Jimmy Butler. And that the Celtics are going to sign Gordon Hayward.

Even IT4/Butler/Haywood/Crowder/Horford isn't favourite vs CLE let alone GSW. Just pick for future and let the GSW/CLE show finish.

That team definitely gives Cleveland a run.

It would make sense if they split up the package i.e. send #3, Jaylen, and Avery for Butler and then also get 2018 LAL and 2019 PHI picks and keep those.

That way they get to have a really good team now, and even if it is unlikely to beat GSW they preserve enough draft equity to bridge the gap to the future or possibly trade for another star if one should come available. If they don't think Fultz is a future star it's a decent way to play the hand.

Championship equity stays at 0% for 3 years either way, so why trade picks for "now" when it's pretty clear no one other than GSW and the LeBron team are going to be comprising. Only thing that may make it viable is if LeBron heads out west which is extremely unlikely.

They have players stashed and 6 1st round picks the next 3 drafts. At what point do they actually have to try and acquire good players? I'd rather not see them in a situation where they are releasing past 1st round picks or trading them like Philly did with Noel.

IT/Butler/Hayward/Crowder/Horford certainly has championship equity, that's 3 top 20 players itl.

I think that team is better than Cleveland.

Seems like it will be critically important for the sixers to fill out their roster with the right veterans. Embiid is a meme and Simmons/Fultz aren't known for their motor/intangibles.

I could see Millsap being pretty useful. Overachiever. The lynchpin of Hawks U. Not sold on Saric's defense.

I hope celtics make that trade, we need more contendors in the nba, IT/Butler/Hayward/Crowder/Horford would give it a title run for sure, they will would have 2018 first round pick which will be high considering the team that they will pick for.

The interesting thing is that Boston is setting up a team in their own division to potentially be great.

I do like what Boston's doing. get stars at all costs.

Millsap is still the most underrated player in the league. Whoever gets him is going to get a lot better
