I must be missing something with MCW. What do you guys see?

Creation, skill, length, and athleticism. I think he can become a serviceable shooter.

i'm getting lower and lower on mclemore and agree with all the criticisms of him, i see him def outside the top 5 in value. noel/porter/burke/oladipo should all be locks ahead of him imo, and i'd take len and prob bennet/zeller ahead of him too probably. just not buying him as a guy with the upside to justify taking him over more productive players

guys outside the top few elite prospects imo:

kcp 35/62/3 (really think he has a high % of hitting the 3+D skill level required to be a starter)
mcw 70/23/7 (will have the best star potential of anyone outside the top 7 or so imo just based on athletic profile and the fact that his fringe skills don't seem totally busted)
bazz 70/27/3 (will take a big overhall in style, wim and skill level for him to be a competent nba starter)

This NBA draft commercial for NBA.com shows that numerous NBA prospects wear polo shirts with all the buttons buttoned up. All of them will be busts.

Also Saric officially withdrew. 2014 is going to be a very very deep draft

Yeah, i think he's a really good fit. They won't let Ricky guard anyone who can post up at all and they want Rubio on the ball for the steals. But they could play matchups when needed with Rubio being the "long" defender and McCollum being the "heavy" defender. Adelman's system requires the 2 to handle the ball quite a bit as well as shoot. And McCollum + Rubio would be like 290 Basketball IQ points from your backcourt.

Unfortunately Flip Saunders was hired as GM and all rumors are he wants to trade up for Oladipo (good) or draft Shabazz (terrible).

If Ilgauskas couldn't shoot he would've washed out of the league after the foot problems made him slower.
Correct. If he loses his uber-athleticism he's a 206lb guy who can't score.

Pretty much hate him too.

I don't really watch college BBall except for the tourney but damn McLemore and Shabazz looked worthless.

Shabazz was extremely aloof. When he felt like playing he was excellent.

These are not the type of players that do well in Minnesota.

on the bs report bill and ryen russillo had some interesting info about noel, basically his crew are a bunch of ultrashady dudes. he's blown of WORLDWIDE WES, leon rose, and is still yet to sign an agent and is pissing people off through being unavailable. if he's not playing nice with the nba community i wouldn't be surprised if he didn't go #1

if cavs can't flip their pick i think they take porter or len (supposedly ilgauskas still works for them and loves len, whatever that counts for)

Not at all surprising after following his recruitment out of high school. Reports were always that Noel himself is a good kid but that his handlers are super shady. Pete Thamel wrote a couple articles about it.

Alex Len was singing karaoke the other night at the Rio. Did "The Sign" by Ace of Base and a few classic rock songs I forget the names of. Pretty good voice.

They apparently think Nerlens is Theo Ratliff. Which might be a decent comparison.
NBA Draft 2013: lolCavs Quote

yeah seems like a pretty reasonable expectation for impact, ratliff did have some very good yrs defensively by the numbers (drapm/drtg etc). rapm had him~20th best player itl during his prime on the strength of his d, but was always a pretty meh offensive guy

that said a big part of the nba draft is gambling on upside, so imo you have to keep an open (and probably optimistic) mind about his ceiling. he obv has big red flags but imo he also has a literally unprecedented agility+quickness+length package, and he did only turn 19 in april

imo his ceiling is the kind of defensive gamechanger that's closer to ben wallace than a guy like ratliff (ie: historically elite defender and in the top top tier of players itl). obviously nobody is a strong chance to be that good, but nerlen's has the kind of freaky athletic profile that justifies taking that possibility into account iyam

Let me guess. McLemore is not able to create a shot for himself or others and is kind of floating around on D looking to leak out for what pass for pedestrian dunks in the L?
