It's relatively hard to argue that anyone besides Jokic is better than Lebron right now.

It's actually pretty easy to argue there's several players better than LeBron.

Well being that LeBron is 20th in ws/48 (10th in total WS), 8th in PER, 5th in box score +/- & 5th in VOR, I don't think it's too hard to argue other players are better than him.

What Lebron is doing at his age is unprecedented and absurd, but most of the improvement in his scoring efficiency is attributable to him sun running from beyond the arc. Lebron has taken more than 6800 3 pt shots over the course of his career. We have a mountain of evidence that he isn't really a 41% 3 pt shooter.

Great video about the Lakers job shutting down the Pacers offense:

Cliffs:

1) AD is a defensive beast

2) If possible, have LeBron

3) Hope the Pacers miss open looks.

Did you factor in “In-Season Tournament LeBron” into those calculations!?

Bron is 5th in BPM and EPM, so it's not like arguing that he's 5th right now is absurd.

What's crazy is that there are 4 players that have gapped the field in terms of BPM and WS/48:

Joker (clear MVP)
Embiid
Haliburton
SGA

Crazy year those 4 have come out of the gate with. 1st team all-NBA should be those 4 and Luka or Bron imo

I don't see how you can leave Giannis out of that conversation.

Haliburton with 5 assists in the first 3 minutes, on pace for *checks math* 80.

Early RPM is out. Joker just from Haliburton at the moment, with Tatum the main overperformer and SGA the main underperformer vs other "catch all" stats

It's not like it would be a travesty if he was there or anything. We're talking about the 5 best players in the league at the moment. If he's #6 or 7, that's ok.

He finished with 16. Pacers and Pistons just wasted 48 minutes playing one of the lowest effort basketball games anyone has ever seen (outside of Benn Mathurin, who was outstanding). Just a bunch of dudes running back and forth making shots when both teams knew who was winning.

You need to win an NBA playoff series right now. You can choose: SGA, Halliburton, Lebron, Giannis. Who do you choose?

I think it's obvious.

SGA sucked last playoffs.
Giannis becomes much less effective in the postseason outside of that championship year.
Haliburton hasn't shown to have the killer mentality from a scoring perspective, which is much needed in the playoffs.

LeBron, hands down. King stay the King. 39 is just a number. Heck, he'll drop 39 on your bitch asses.

I want the answer to be Haliburton, but it's LeBron. It's always LeBron until the bad man retires and stops hurting me

If it's one game, I choose Lebron. If it's one series and he is coming in off of proper rest, I may choose Lebron, but I probably would choose Giannis. If it is an entire playoff run, I don't choose Lebron.

That's purely a concession to age. What Lebron is doing is unprecedented, but I still don't think he can handle the usage during a playoff run that he was able to handle ten years ago.

1. Giannis
2. Lebron
3. SGA
4. Hali

(Depending on who else is on the team. If there's another legit star then LeBron is #1 probably)

Reminder in the last 3 years. Playoff series wins:

Giannis - 5
Joker - 5
Steph - 5
Embiid - 3
LeBron - 2

I'm not even saying the answer is not LeBron, but to say "hard to argue" is wrong.

I'd actually go with Steph as number 1 if you gave him another legit star.

We're arguing who is number 2. I just put the Joker in there for comparison.

Giannis over Lebron for a full playoff run easily. Luka too, and probably Steph. Steph #1 if you get to pick another top ~10 sidekick.

Think it's decently possible SGA and Hali have passed Lebron for a playoff series by now but probably can't actually pick them over him until they do something there so that's fair enough.
