The Magic are destined to always lose in the first round.

I think the Magic would've been a tougher match for the Celts but who cares. Celts should be embarrassed if they don't sweep.

I think it is pretty negligible either way but I'd say main reason Magic would be tougher is because Jarrett Allen probably has broken ribs and won't play.

With him healthy, I do think Cavs are better than Magic by a decent margin. Won 2/3 in the series without him.

What if Mobley became HIM though like Ant did? People were calling him next KG after his rookie year.

Everyone said the same thing about the Gobert trade (why are you mortgaging your future when Ant is so young?) and now the Wolves have 2nd-3rd most chip equity in the entire league.

With these small market teams that probably aren't ever picking top 10 again + won't be able to sign legit FAs, I think gambles like that are super necessary as Jorge Masvidal once said about punching an unconscious Ben Askren.

Mobley just kinda plateaued after that though. Maybe playing for a team that was immediately in win now mode hindered his offensive development.

I get Markanen was in 1 deal and wasn't in the other, but nobody really had him pegged for that type of leap at time of trade. And obviously now the deal doesn't look great.

I jumped on Thunder -115 series. I think they’re just the better team.
Dort/Jalen Williams on Luka
SGA/Dort on Kyrie
Chet can handle their bigs.

I also threw something on Thunder in 7 series exact result. DK and CZR was +350. FD was +440.

same re thunder for series....i didnt expect to wanna bet them rd 2 but i thought that line would open like -150 to -160

main X factor to me is Chet rim protection vs a team that basically doesn't have 1 roleplayer who is considered even a league average shooter...could see Chet being able to ramp minutes some too not having to go against JV, guy had like 70 pounds on him

So badly want to see the Knicks eliminate the Celtics in the conference finals. If you don't love Jalen Brunson's game you are a bad person.

Always cool to witness the start of something epic in sports.
The only part of this narrative I don't get is how it overlooks Luka who clearly is more lovable.

GG to the Mavs bigs, worked the ass off the last couple games. Luka didn’t even really play that well yesterday and they cruised.

Adopting the Wolves and KNAX for the rest of the year!

I see Knicks at -245 for the series. Seems like stealing at that price. Feel like it should be -500 as I think the Pacers have no shot.

Then again, in hindsight it looks like he actually really was on the verge of bodily collapse when he dipped out, and no Wemby if that doesn’t happen. That’s gotta be at least one ring in expectation over the next 10 years. Kawhi gets a title and a year or two where people talked about him as best player in the league. Uncle Dennis gets paid. Everyone wins. Except the Clippers, per usual.

Want to see if Chet really bothers Luka or Kyrie at all before making a prediction.

Luka especially, size usually doesn’t really deter him because so much of his stuff is in that short mid area where the big has to take a couple more steps to contest and leave the lob open.

Why is the Cavs Celtics game on at 8:30 ET on Saturday and Thunder Mavericks is 3:30? How did the NBA figure out how to **** that one up?

I'm guessing the NHL has an impact too. Those Saturday gametimes haven't been announced yet, but the Stars will be playing. I've seen rumors of the Canes/Rangers potentially being at noon, which would be gross. Even 1 pm would suck but be a little more palatable

Might end up something like:

Canes/Rangers - noon to 1 pm.
Thunder/Mavs - 3:30
Stars/Avalanche - 6:00
Cavs/Celtics - 8:30

Agree with this. Made me rethink how I view the series. There is a world where Haliburton returns to form and they run the Knicks to death and they are worn out from the Sixers series. Still think it should be > -300.

If you want the bull case for the Pacers, it's here:

The generated a TON of wide open looks from 3 against the Bucks and uncharacteristically missed most of them (save for Myles). If that regressed towards the mean, they've got an outside chance.
