Someone should let the Pistons know that Wemby won’t be re-included in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Doubt I posted anything at the time but was def guilty myself of thinking pretty much exactly that. Thought it was lunacy to not just take Gordon haha. Oops.

Though in my defence I guess then the NBA probably wouldn't have canned me so ul Hinkie

Surely the highest paid coach in the NBA, coach of the year Monty Williams, will figure things out soon.

Seriously that’s a big haul for a player that isn’t very good. I’m surprised the Knick’s disnt throw in a 1st as well

RJ is 23 years old and IQ 24, seems like giving up very early for a player in OG who can't be far from his ceiling (if not past it already)

FYI OG this season : 15/4/2.5

Not sure what the advanced defensive metrics say about his defense this year but his exceptional steal rate has almost halfed compared to last season

Love seeing the incoming of Quickley and Barrett and a first, hate seeing Precious being included in the deal though

Correction : 2nd round from Detroit, so basically equal value to a late first.

Like this for the Knicks. RJB sucks. Knicks are worse with him on the floor.

As someone who has made it a point to not follow the raptors for a couple years did the shine come off the apple on OG or something? That seems like nothing for a guy who I was given to understanding was good

Seems like the Raps got the better of this one

Also as someone going to the Pacers/Knicks game tonight, I support them playing shorthanded.

Both he an Pascal are effectively on expiring deals (OG can opt out). It's killed a ton of their value.

Can't argue with any of this. Amazing how deep the NBA is today even compared to 10 years ago.

basically what cina said. og is supposedly a good defender (then again the rapz always seem to have terrible defense), but doesn't have much game on offense outside of shooting 3s, doesn't seem to be getting any better, and has probably wanted out for a while now, so oh well

and yeah sure maybe rj can't shoot or pass or dribble or defend and makes horrible decisions, but i guess it might be worth gambling on the upside that you can still fix some things there. and if not, they'll still be able to raise ticket prices because he's from toronto

The point guards of this era are insane.

2016 Jamal Murray

2017 De’Aaron Fox

2018 Luka Doncic, Trae Young, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Brunson

2019 Ja Morant, Darius Garland

2020 LaMelo Ball, Tyrese Haliburton, Tyrese Maxey

Love the trade for both.

Og is a great fit on Knicks and while it obv doesn't quite get them to full contender status, I'm big proponent of just "getting better" once you're too good to completely blow it up (which I think the Knicks are). Nothing wrong with going on a bit of a playoffs run and maybe making a conference finals or something. And then maybe the *next* piece pushes you up to being a contender.

For Toronto it's probably a disappointing haul in a vacuum, but doubt there was just that much market for Og. RJ is the perfect upside gamble for Raps specifically being from Toronto. Dunno much about Quickley but at his age gotta at least still be some upside there too. And the pick is deceptively good (pick 31-33 often actually better than a late first for salary reasons)

Maybe the Raptors big managers can tell the Leafs big managers how to do a big trade.
