Every Wolves fan I know is torn because they're likely a good draft pick away from being a good team.

I'll give a well known poaster my username/pw to my sportsbook account and u can just look at it when the 200 bets are up.
that guy has made 200 bets this year. if you can cherry pick great lines for the next, oh i dunno, 10 years, you may do ok.

but try to bet on 200 nba games over the next 3.5 weeks and you will get so pwned.

even if his ytd meant for the nba season i dont see you picking 200 games before the end of the year and doing well.

Didn't he pick the Clippers as his "surprise" team after a few weeks?

I mean, c'mon. Dude has his point. ORB% isn't the end all be all, but it adds some validity to the announcers' claim.
01-24-2009 , 04:42 PM
He gets 3.5 ORB playing 22 mins a game, which is a better rate than Dwight Howard. I'd say announcer had a pretty valid point.

Nope rebound rate means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!1. Where do these people come from?
01-24-2009 , 05:52 PM
Assuming that Dschriem's threat to kill himself if he's up 116 bucks implies that he'll also kill himself if he's up anything less than that, this should be a pretty entertaining sweat. Definitely make your picks public, you can do it the day after if you are afraid of giving away your super secret methods.

My surprise team was an EXCELLENT pick, after i picked them they went like 4-2 in their next 6 and looked like they were goign to make a run and then kaman, davis, camby, radnolph ALL went down with injruies-- wtf do you expect stfu.

3. Cleveland

It's not 200 games, it's 200 bets, it doesn't have to be on games only.....and if you dont think I'll do better than 11.6u then bet with wahtever other guy wanted to bet.

Yeah, your right. It makes his claim pretty impossible to disprove but I'm just sick of these ******ed homer announcers. This is my first year with league pass and it's such a change from the professionalism of the New York media. You watch a Knicks or Nets game and you don't see that stuff. Also Dwight>Love at ORB, let's be serious.

Let's let him keep doing it before we crown him. He has a better ORB% than some of Rodman's years, clearly he's better than Rodman too.

At least the other stat that was mentioned had some merit. This post is a joke. It's pretty hard for Dwight to get ORBs when Nelson, Lewis, Turk have been shooting the ****in lights out.

whatifsports.com

we should enter our teams from the NBA draft there and sim out a season

fwiw, a rebound opportunity is only judged based on misses. in other words, if your team only misses 4 shots, and you rebound one of them, you have a 25% ORB%. If your team made 16 shots, you wouldn't have a 5% mark (1 of 20)

So, it's irrelevant that Nelson Turk and Lewis are hitting

Love is really, really effective at offensive rebounding. So is Jeff Foster. Why is this not serious? It's plausible.
01-24-2009 , 06:51 PM
I agree with Bobbo, Anderson Varajao comes to mind as well.

Some dudes just have a ton of energy and really crash the offensive boards.
01-24-2009 , 07:00 PM
it also seems like height is a lot less important for offensive rebounds than defensive and quickness/hustle gains more importance for offensive than defensive

also dwight is a great rebounder but his defensive rebounding stats are inflated due to not having a good rebounder play alongside him

A while ago you and I had a conversation. Here was the jist of it:

Me: You always do the same thing- you make bad predictions and then when they turn out wrong you just make excuses or say that those games didn't matter or say stats suck.

You: Ok fine. You tell me the next time I do this.

I pointed it out to you when the Lakers lost to Orlando, which you incorrectly predicted. And now I'm pointing it out here. Not to my surprise, you continue to just make excuses.

I know what ORB% is. That was the stat I was referring to that had merit. Look at the post I quoted.
