I will laugh if he comes back and it's against someone other than Khabib.

Floyd in a cage looks like fixed/rigged fight.

I think after Khabib looking human vs Raging Al + the beef & demand for the fight he will definitely come back for it, he has his court hearing in June though, hopefully in the summer that case gets settled & they announce the fight for September or November. They can basically tell Ferguson to stay ready & train in case someone pulls out.

Will Khabib gets stripped if Russia & the west conflict heats up further? All the signs are there that ****ts about to get real.

Decent card tonight. Main event was a war. Poirier has been on a good run and called out Khabib after the fight. Might make the most sense for Khabibs next fight with Conor and Tony likely out for awhile due to injuries and dollies.

As a viewer i appreciate Gaethje's fighting style as it almost always leads to entertaining fights but man does he take alot of punishment. Almost like hes too tough for his own good.

Poirier should fight Alvarez in a rematch or the winner of Lee/Barboza

Alvarez would be best. Then give the winner a title shot because by then the Conor/Khabib/Ferg dust will likely have settled.

Carlos Condit quickly became a favourite of mine when I started watching MMA due to his aggressive style, so it's sad to see that he's clearly fallen out of the elite. Don't know if his decline is due to him no longer being physically/mentally up for the fight or if the competition has just become too good for him. Maybe a combination of both.

Cards like these seem to be set up with the assumption that fights will end up being canceled.

e

His style doesnt work that well against high level guys like alvarez and poirier, johnson rocked him to. It does make amazing fights, real wars. He says himself he does it for entertainment, he's cares to much about the crowd and entertainment for his own good though. He's an amazing wrestler and didnt even attempt a takedown in his last 3 fights. I read how many shots he took to the head his last 3 fights in ufc.. and dear god.. he's going to have some serious brain damage after his mma carreer. He is indeed to tough for his own good.

He has five fights left in the ufc, probably five FOTN's, he isn't going to change anything i think.

I think khabib vs conor in september. Sometime around that fight poirier vs tony ferguson. I really like poirier, i hope he gets a shot for the title and wins the belt. So many good fighters in lightweight division atm.

Kevin Lee misses weight, rofl

Yoel is getting a title shot even though he missed weight so I guess that isn't a big deal anymore.

IIRC after his fight with Tony (granted he had staph) and his struggles to make weight for that fight he talked about how tough the weight cut was and talked about wanting a new weight class between 155 and 170.

I think the Yoel situation is slightly different in that Yoel is probably the #1 contender in that division too. Even with a win tomorrow I dont think Lee would jump ahead of the 4 people infront of him in the division, combined with the weight issues i cant see him getting a title shot in the near future and the guys infront of him have a valid reason to refuse to fight him.

Lee looking dominant.

Bring on Lee/Khabib if this continues!

edit: Wow Barboza hurt him bad but Lee recovering

Lee is well rounded & a good fighter, i don't see him ever making 155 though, they need 165lb weight class for people like him.

Yeah we've talked this before ITT but pretty sure UFC isn't in any hurry to make new weight classes as it dilutes the belts and they love having the belts have significance. Otherwise you get like boxing where belts don't matter and that isn't really good for an entity like the UFC even if it wouldn't be the worst thing for the fighters.

Man they gotta do Edson a solid and give him a striker in his next fight. Dude has been mauled for like 8 rounds straight.

The top of the LW division is really stacked atm. Khabib vs lee would definately be fun but I still feel like he is 5th in line for the title shot. Really interested to see the next round of matchups with the top guys in the division. Everyone will likely hold off on accepting any fights until its clear what the situation with Conor is.

The 155lb division is clogged up, between Mcgregor legal issues & Ferguson injury it's clogged beyond belief. I hope the UFC opens that 165lb division that's being rumored & we can see someone like K.Lee get a title shot. 155lb divsion will be clogged for 1.5-2years as it stands currently.

The guy misses weight for the 1st time ever by a couple of pounds and he can never make it again? Really?

In His fight with Ferguson he made weight on his second attempt, got staph & was gassed by the 2nd round. His next fight vs Barboza he then misses weight at 157lbs, championship weight is 155. K.Lee is 25 & is only going to get bigger, i don't like the idea of him continuing fighting at 155, the guys at 170 are huge & why he doesn't want to move up but i hope they open the 165lb division.

What does staph have to do with making or missing weight? If anything it would be much harder to make weight when your body is fighting staph. He clearly has phenomenal cardio when healthy. I’m not saying he’s not going to have a tough time making championship weight but saying he can no longer make weight is ignorant.

Khabib has a much harder time making 55 than Lee historically.

Easier to get sick when you're depleted from weight cutting, not sure he gets staph without that horrendous weight cut. If the rumored new tv deal & it's stipulations are correct, then the 165lb weight class will come sooner than you think, could see them offering Kevin Lee first dips on a title shot there.

Sure, weight cutting is a problem, and the jump from 155 to 170 might be the biggest discrepancy in the sport, but singling our Kevin Lee and saying he can’t make the weight anymore is rediculous.

He’s definitely interested in a 165lb division, he even flirted with the idea up moving up to 170 but the ufc said he would have to start over in the rankings. How they have any control over the rankings I have a huge problem with and it’s another reason the fighters need collective bargaining ASAP.

I think this would make sense for thin divisions like the women's divisions- which is why they initially had a strawweight and a bantamweight but no flyweight.

Now, I think they'd be fine with more weight classes since it means more belts. Dana loves using belts to promote events, which is even more crucial now that so many big fights are getting cancelled.
