Already been done. Anybody remember Muhammad Ali/Antonio Inoki? That fight destroyed Ali's legs.

Yeah the story behind that is bizarre. The promoters told Inoki the fight was for real and Ali just thought it was an exhibition or something? Story doesn't really make a ton of sense from what I remember.

Wouldn't be a bad 30 for 30 but the fight was just so boring to watch.

It was initially supposed to be a job where Ali would take the fall. But when Ali didn't want to lose, it became "real". He still thought it would be more of an exhibition fight which is why he didn't train much. Meanwhile, Inoki thought it was legit.

Also he talks about wanting to do movies and a fight with floyd would raise his popularity.
I don't see McGregor making that much more than what he did verses Diaz, Floyd isn't going to give money away to some chump boxer which McGregor is. I thought Conor made like $10mil for the Diaz fight? I don't know if McGregor would even land 5 power punches in a 12 round fight.

The only way to have a shot at Floyd is to have a motor that won't quit. Manny, in 2009, had that, it's the reason we all wanted the fight. Conor has a gas tank that borders on "poor"

Hmmm. Zuffa might be selling UFC to one of four companies. The apparent frontrunner is a Chinese company.

If a large conglomerate purchases UFC I hope there is something in place for the fighters. Don't want to end up like the WWE where the talent is worked to death.

Maia so good, dominated whole 1st round and landed his first strike around 3 mins in.

Great show from both.

Brown made 1 mistake....Maia choked him out.

This is probably getting a little ahead of everything but maybe UFC sees McGregor/Rousey stardom and realizes the days of getting the top fighters to just take their crumbs are over and a new era of co-promoting and a business model like boxing is possibly around the corner?

I don't really see it quite going that far, but it might not be a bad time to sell high either. Rousey, McGregor types that master social media and promotion really don't need UFC as much.

Wanted to bet Werdum at -165 and just forgot the fight was tonight. Up to -210, oh well.

Surprised he is so low. Stipe never impressed me a ton.

Think I just favour Barberena here, close enough fight tho.

Doubt the judges see the same.

Dana was on ESPN yesterday. He said the mayweather fight won't happen unless Floyd comes and talks to him. He also said he still thinks Conor should have done press and he doesn't regret taking him off card.
