Also, how can anybody grant Shamrock a license to fight? The guy is clearly not mentally stable thinking he has a chance to regain glory.

dont be too hard, put this fight 20 years ago and it would of been decent.
Kimbo would of been a favorite by far vs other fighter except vs gracie and 1 or 2 more.

But yeah, the quality of fights are like 20 years too late...

So he broke his foot last week apparently.

Begs the question why his official social media accounts were still posting hype videos today.

Plus after preparing for a Lightweight fight got to think there is no way 2 weeks out that Conor agrees to cut weight for a Featherweight fight.

There's no way Conor would try and make the cut to 145 now either.

The fight with connor will be cancel.
Why would he fight if no belt are in play ?
Nothing to gain and everything too lose.

If connor had the belt it would make sense to fight but now ?
Unless ufc gave the winner an interim belt .

In that case the #1 contender should move in if he wants to.

He gets to beat up Nate Diaz and they going to give him money to do it.

Conor has already said that he will fight anyone the UFC puts in front of him, belt or no belt.

The current options are Cerrone, Pettis, Diaz, and Faber.

Honestly, any mid-level LW is still gonna interest me. The 'champion jumps to new weight class' is always interesting even if it isn't an immediate title shot. If McGregor beats up a #5-#10 ranked LW and looks good doing it, hype for the eventual RDA/Conor fight goes even higher.

Reference: Anderson Silva vs Forrest Griffin

Diaz camp was saying he got the fight, but then people are saying that there's no way he can get to 155 in time and UFC won't do a catch weight of 165. So far it still who knows at this point.

Is Eddie Alvarez not being considered as a replacement?
The MMA Thread Quote

I think from the UFC's perspective Alvarez isn't being considered because he won't bring nearly as much to the PPV due to there being no real history/dialogue between him and McGregor.

to be honest its probably not as entertaining a fight as any of the other available options right now, but I'd like to see the matchup. I'm just surprised he's not getting as much consideration here since he's 1 in the rankings and seems like the kind of guy who'd take the fight on short notice.

I think mcgregor brings enough to the PPV himself that you could replace him with just about anybody and it'd sell as well or better than any other non-mcgregor ppv..
