Cheers man! Yeh doing real good thanks, been off it quite a while now, although the first 6 weeks I was on disulfiram which kinda removes any decision whether to drink or not.

Nope. Izzy's a freak and a very weird dude.

Chimaev better be the real deal or else 170 and 185 title picture not looking very interesting for a bit

170lb Top 15 has 10-0 Chimaev, all wins by finish. Also, 15-0 Rakhmonov, all wins by finish. Also, 15-0 Sean Brady.

185lbs is not very exciting though. The guys with the most hype have all fizzled (ie Costa, Holland, Shahbazyan). Strickland didn't look that great in his last fight. Frankly, Izzy didn't look that great either. He's quite beatable, but there's just not much to get excited about in the division because he's beaten most of the contenders. I assume they'll throw Cannonier at him next. The one 185lb fighter I have my eyes on is Andre Muniz. Anyone that can submit Jacare is a dude to watch. He's fighting Uriah Hall next.

Chimaev/Usman who wins? I think I'd like Chimaev there but would like to see him fight better competition.

As has been discussed itt recently, UFC desperately needs new blood

if there is no discussion on Colby/Masvidal, who is the king of Miami and Donald Trump's official fav fighter then just close this thread down

Masvidal +800 by dec all I have come up with so far....He'll probably lose a decision but perhaps his striking can win him 3 rounds

^^I think Khamzat will go down as greatest of all time if he can finally get people to fight him, will steamroll Burns and then Usman. The stories about him are beyond anything I’ve heard and he has the most fighting spirit I’ve ever seen

Hopefully Zabit can get some fights too, he’s as talented as anyone

Too bad Khabib is retired, him vs Colby would be a fun catch weight fight imo.

yeah I'm not sure where either colby or masvidal go from here....I doubt poirier wants to fight covington even when he can probably fight conor again, diaz/him might happen, Cov would kill him...So is Cov gonna get back in line and take on high level guys with no name like Burns/Edwards or even face Chimaev?

Masvidal is probably a fringe top 10 guy at 170 now, not sure what they can really do with him. Him/Edwards I guess can still happen.

Outside of Masvidal vs McGregor, there aren't really any Masvidal fights I want to see. Maybe feed him to Chimaev.

Not saying it would've made a difference, but he did get screwed on Herb not catching that eye poke in rd 1

I kinda want to see Thompson vs Masvidal 2.

For Wonderboy, you’re giving him a striker finally and a named fighter. Get him back in the win column.

For Masvidal, I think WB is better, but Jorge could outstrike him WB if on the decline. Haven’t seen any evidence yet, just him getting out grappled and held down. He gets to avenge his loss.

I’m a betting newb but i think WB would be -200 in the rematch. Masvidal is still good on the feet so who knows, maybe closer to Evens?

I have no interest in ever seeing WB fight again so you're asking the wrong guy. But yeah, WB -180ish sounds about right.

Maybe Mas vs an up and comer like Luque....170 is the most stacked division in UFC I'd say

Masvidal McGregor would be too PPV of the year and people would get their money's worth since they'd both just bang it out. Seems like a no brainer for two guys on losing streaks.

yeah but McGregor has way better options than Masvidal for fights he can win and still get paid. Diaz 3, hell Nick Diaz, Poirier 4

Kinda think Masvidal would kill him but it would be all standup, definitely should make it happen

I was going to say I think Masvidal starches Mcgregor at welterweight. Masvidal is a step up from Nate Diaz and we saw Conor barely get back that rubber match. I def don’t think Mcgregor does himself any favors fight at 170lb.!!

I count no less than 14 fights to make with Conor. He doesn’t need any one fighter.

yeah Chandler, Gaethje as well

Just a lot of options for McGregor....although him/Mas would be huge even though both are off multiple losses takes some of the sting out of it

The fight I want to see Conor take the most is RDA. Michael Chandler would be my #2, but I agree there are a ton of fights for Conor.

However, what I was talking about are the fights I want to see Masvidal take, and right now the only one that interests me is Conor. I don't see many other marketable fights for Masvidal other than like Nick Diaz (is he still fighting?). I also think that Conor fight would sell better than any other possibilities other than possibly Conor vs Nate 3 which is a fight I could care less about.

I agree that he does no favors moving up in weight. However, MMAmath never works out but even if it did it seems highly likely that Nate was, as he claimed, not 100% for the Masvidal fight. Despite only being taken down one time, Nate only landed 43 significant strikes in that fight, as compared to114 against Pettis, 77 in just over a round and some change vs Conor, 153 vs Michael Johnson, etc etc etc. The Diaz brothers are volume strikers. A Diaz without cardio is simply not a very good fighter, and that was on full display vs Masvidal.

Masvidal has a little height on Conor, more one punch KO power, the same reach, but it's not like Masvidal is some high level world beater. Just to put it in perspective, Masvidal would need to win his next 45 fights in a row to have the same winning percentage as Colby Covington, and that's despite running pretty well in spots.

Was there a substitute stand in on the card last night? I'm pretty sure I had a bet but it disappeared from my list with no explanation, thought maybe that was it.

Renato Moicono stepped in on 4 days notice to face RDA and was beaten to a pulp for his troubles. RDA was supposed to face Rafael Fiziev.

McGregor/Masvidal would be bigger than McGregor/Diaz 3 imo, that would be a big fight but probably has to be done sooner than later.

But McGregor can make similar $ fighting tons of guys that are far better matchups for him so I don't really see it happening. Also, even if McGregor won, he's not gonna get much credit for beating a guy off 3 losses. Risk/reward not really there.

Who are better matchups for McGregor than a guy who also has questionable cardio and will stand with him?

Fact is, there aren't that many good matchups for McGregor at 155+. A good matchup would be someone like Marcus Brimage or Dennis Siver, ie 5'6" 145lbs 70" reach and limited wrestling. The two biggest wins of Conor's career were over a guy that now fights at 135lbs and another guy that's been getting his ass kicked in a smaller promotion in Asia for the last few years.
