Yeah, I don't usually question stoppages too much but that seemed almost like Cowboy was getting back up and had his right hand protecting his face.

Not sure it changed the outcome much, but that might've been a little quick

i counted 9 punches to the glove before the stoppage :/

meanwhile he lets Weidman take 30+ unanswered punches without trying to move

Yeah, be interested to see what Cowboy has to say about that. He was probably in a lot of trouble either way but it was quick, especially for a title fight.

I was surprised they didn't interview him after. He is the type of guy they usually interview after defeats too since he is such a fan fav.

This is what I initially thought but after seeing the replays it was a good stop. It was quick but he only recovered after the stoppage. While getting punched, there was no defense.

Cowboy seems to fall squarely in that level. That's a real shame because Cowboy seems like an amazingly easy guy to cheer for and an all-around cool guy.
Lawler looked like his career was headed that way/went that way for a long time. I've always been a huge fan of his but I did not see his comeback coming. Never know. Cowboy fights a lot. Maybe a layoff would be good for him? I don't see it myself, but it could happen.

He didn't look upset about it at the time. The JDS stoppage was more suspect to me.

Cowboy is a mental midget. Mcgregor would absolutely mince him. RDA be a much tougher fight although since Conor is the money maker the UFC might ramp up the testing on RDROIDS.

it's weird to think back when Dos Anjos was a decorated grappler with crappy standup. One knockout in his first 14 UFC fights.

either he has the best striking coaches ever, or there are some PEDs going on, or both.

Anyone check out Rogan's hard on for Nate Diaz?

That was a very close fight imo and Rogan was creaming in his pants for Nate throughout, it gets pretty annoying how biased he is.

Junior is finished imo, Cain literally beat him to the point of death, twice.
A couple of year he would have knocked Reem the f out in about 2 minutes, he looked appalling in there.

Round 1 was close ish, rounds 2/3 were not close at all. Nate was just constantly landing with range advantage throughout.

Diaz did look great through the fight, pity I can't say the same for how he sounded during the promo. Really sounded like a punch drunk fighter tho I obviously hope that isn't true.

What did he say in the post fight interview?

I dont get as surprised anymore, after what Lawler and Werdum have done with thier careers .

I guess vets CAN get much better, and it's great to see and im sure an inspiration to a lot of fighters stuck in a rut.

I love the Diaz bros but they both always sound that way. Baked, belligerent and dim. They are skilled fighters who work their asses off and are tough as hell, with insane cardio, but there is not a lot more there. Any interview you see with them anywhere is the same. If you can appreciate the what you see is what you get aspect of them, which I do, it becomes likable.

I always felt like they would win more fights if there were still unlimited rounds.

Maybe it's because I'm a fan too, but i saw it the same way rogan did. Wasn't close. He dialed in and landed at will.

yeah diaz dominated that fight in the last two rounds. first was close. according to fight metric:

Round 1 was 30 strikes Johnson to 21 strikes Diaz. But most of Johnson's strikes were body/leg kicks. Diaz outlanded him 17 to 5 in head strikes. Close round.

Round 2 was 64-18 in Diaz's favor. Round 3 was 54-21 Diaz. He completely controlled those rounds.
