That makes me happy

Nog also gets to go out not being finished in his last fight

Some guys need to be Liddell'd or Couture'd, it's out on their shields or they don't believe it's over

I'd feel better just ending on a decision loss if I were him

No 145 division isn't a strong point tho

The UFC would just create one for the fight and go from there

Also, lol at assuming Ronda or any other mma fighter isnt on PEDs

Shimmy,

Her monetary EV is easily easily easily easily much higher if she stays at 135 instead of moving up to a 145 superfight. Not even remotely close. No reason to risk your career earning potential on one fight when you're that dominant.

And 'proving herself'... i guess? Like she hasn't already proven herself? She's the GOAT women's fighter, probably doesn't feel like she has to prove anything.

This is all probably a moot point, because Cyborg has a fight coming up at 140. If she can make that weight and win, she'll probably attempt to come down to 135.

Also, maybe I'm naive but I don't think 100% of MMA fighters are on PEDs. Probably more like half? This from a combination of being around them and training in their gyms and conversations with insiders. There are lots of fighters out there who don't juice. Also lots of fighters who do.

Ronda will beat Cyborg in less than a minute, just like the rest of them.

That and we all know deep down that Cyborg is a man.
^^ First off, Ronda is bigger than pretty much every girl she fights at 135lbs & she fought at 145lbs prior to dropping down. Secondly, Honda can meet her half way & fight at 140lbs which cyborg says she'll be willing to do, no other interesting fights left @ 135lbs.

Imo, Sarah Mcman should've been given the holly holm treatment & waited until she was more seasoned before taking on top contendors, think she could've beaten ronda with her skill set if she waited & also of course joined mma a few years earlier. At this stage though, ronda is in her athletic prime & getting better while she isn't so i don't see her beating her again, holy holm is a dissapointment and cyborg is the only fight to make point blank period.

There's like 3 women that could possibly get to round 2 with rousey and 2 of them fight at 145 so they're not in the UFC. (tate's the other obv).

Also diaz brothers gonna diaz, got into a brawl with khabib nurmagomedov's camp (khabib was supporting his bro) at the WSOF event.

Holm isn't anywhere near ready but won't be much left in terms of options in the division in 2016. Many people are paying to see Rousey squash fools as well. Might as well keep that train going.

I wouldn't mind joanna champion putting on like 10-15lbs in a years period to challenge ronda @ 135lbs, she's going to do to the 115lb divison what ronda's doing to 135lb.

You have to think that the UFC will slowly expand the number of women's divisions over time.

But I doubt it will be soon. It's an incredibly shallow pool of talent right now, so they can't just add a bunch more divisions without the product being hilariously bad. This is exactly why they did non-consecutive divisions at 115 and 135 imo - to get as many fighters as possible. They get all the natural 115 and 135 fighters, and the natural 125 fighters pick a side and adjust and still end up in the UFC. And the heavy 105ers and the light 145ers adjust as well because UFC >>>>> Invicta or wherever else they can fight.

The UFC essentially gets the talent of 4-5 divisions in just two weight classes. But even with that set up, the pool of talent is still super thin. They have to wait for a better median quality of fighter before they make that change.

Yes Danny is right again - the weight class description was very well put

Just if Ronda was willing to fight at 145 they could make it work is all

A catch weight fight isn't really feasible tho: "Yay it's not for a belt! Let's just see what happens"

Hard cores would love it but casuals just wanna see Ronda wipe girls out, they're not clamoring for a challenge when most of them are only now really starting to take note

It's like Anderson - it actually took a while for him to be a big draw. Chael being a foil and hyping the first fight unlike anyone else ever and then the fight vs Vitor is really where he broke through.

He sold 300 against Cote as the headliner and 335 against Okami. The cards before that that did well all involved either BJ or Liddell. Some Anderson was the headliner - some he was the co-main.

Also unlike Forrest v Silva I think there's a very good chance Cyborg would upset the apple cart if the fight was at a diff weight. I don't think a lot of you really know/appreciate how good she is.

Tennis players handicap against weaker players by playing with a frying pan. So in a similar vein, Ronda could take on the men's #whatever with a frying pan.

Didn't some asshat male get a sex-change and started competing in women's MMA?

Rousey can just start taking testosterone shots and whoop some ass in the men's division.
