Lol at Jones having a 11.5 inch reach advantage on Rampage. Ridiculous.

So this is the thread I post about what i'm watching on TV I want to see blood! Go Rampage as he seems the underdog?

Not a big time sports bettor. Have a little money on Bodog and make $5-$10 bets every now and then just for fun.

Jones is a freak. He's unreal.
Shogun and Rampage had absolutely nothing for him.

Jones looking damn near unstoppable. Rampage barely even put up a fight.

The best kind of butt raping!

Jones is so insanely long, and uses his arsenal of kicks so well. It's pretty clear you cannot outstrike him with just boxing. If anybody could have, Rampage would have been the guy.

Rampage's one area of success was that Jones had a tough time taking him down, but it didn't make any difference in the end.

To beat him, you've either got to outstrike him or outwrestle him. He's just beaten the best Muay Thai guy and the best boxer in the LHW division (arguably). He might be the best wrestler (or damn close) in the entire division.

so...

Jones definitely looked good tonight.

As expected, Rampage had nothing for him. Jon Jones is what every mma fighter should try to be, being creative and trying crazy ****.

What was he doing at the beginning of the fight?

It was like the monkey attack or something, like in bloodsport.

I feel like the only way to beat Jones is to catch him with a lucky shot or get him on his back. I have no idea who could get him on his back or how they would do it. Could be in for a long title reign here.

Jones could use some some lessons in SWAG. Thats about it because in the ring hes flawless from what ive seen.

jones vs silva would be so sick, i think silva would still figure out a way to find a win

he said he had an 'epiphany' last night about faking a takedown or something like that

I see, that makes sense. I have seen some all state high school wrestlers do something like that, but normally they did not have to worry about punches or kicks coming their way.

Thats what I love about Jones, he's not afraid to take a chance and try something different

nate diaz also looked amazing tonight. Hughes fight was sad, I hate seeing over-the-hill legends losing

honestly can't see anyone beating jones. machida probably has the best chance, but there's just no way to overcome that reach advantage and jones is just too ****ing skilled

edit:

yea this. if jones is gonna lose it's not gonna be cuz the other guy was the superior fighter

I think Machida is the most interesting matchup out there. Machida has great striking, and has really good TD defense as well. He's not one-dimensional standing up like Rampage, and controls distance well.

He'd still be an underdog, but I give him more of a chance than anyone else.

jones/gsp/silva have their respective divisions more or less on lockdown, which is kinda disappointing. i'll still pay money to watch silva and jones fight cuz their fights are still damn impressive, but i mean really, which of those 3 are going to be the first to lose?

Jones was amazing. It's sad that Rampage's performance in this fight is going to end up being so underrated, his defense for most of the fight was really, really sick. Jones is just too good (too big). I'll be rooting for Rashad.

gsp/silva or silva/jones have to happen. ****s gettin boring.
The MMA Thread Quote

i doubt very much jones will ever fight either of them. gsp/silva is the most likely

edit: i take that back...silva could move up obv to fight him, but i just doubt it happens. jones is still too green for jones/silva to be the biggest fight in MMA history that silva/gsp almost certainly would be

rampage's defense was pretty impressive. besides the front kick to the face i don't think a single jones kick landed above the waist. nonetheless, rampage never stood a chance. it's like he conceded that he was going to lose each individual round and that his entire strategy was to hope for the lottery punch. i mean, i can't imagine what other strategy he could have had, but that's still a disappointment

His defense was great, but he also was being a bit conservative with his offense, and I think those two go hand in hand. After the fight Rogan asked him why he didn't leg kick more(they seemed to be working well) and he said that he was scared of being taken down....sacrificing offense for defense.
