I doubt the hospital setting led Gastelum to deviate from his hydration routine in any way and the doctors present were, if anything, a hindrance.

... do you think he went to the hospital and they did nothing for him? he collapsed prior to the weigh in that's why he was there. they brought him back to a point where he could leave and weigh in at 180 for a 170 lb fight.

he got a jump start on rehydration and started from a higher weight than woodley.

weight cutting is just implicitly approved angleshooting anyway, but to cheat the angleshoot?

also you saw lineker (130 for a 125 fight) won earlier, correct?

He's experiencing flu like symptoms all week, and dehydrated himself to the point of passing out. He is not gaining an edge from this...

Then why's T-Wood being given 30% of his purse and had the option to call off the fight?

You think Woodley wouldn't change his routine if he learns his opponent's going to come in 10 lbs over?

So that people don't take advantage of missing weight.

You're clearly uneducated on the subject. There is absolutely no edge to be had. Actually there is a pretty giant disadvantage to be had.

Given no other information at all people will take a heavier fighter over a lighter fighter. That's why we have weight classes.

Are you saying we shouldn't?

How can there be no edge to weighing 10 lbs more than an opponent? That also means there's no disadvantage to weighing 10 lbs less. That makes no sense!

Kelvin dehydrated his body (while he was sick) to the point that he was in the hospital. You don't recover from that in 36 hours. He could barley walk up the stairs at the weigh in. He is still going to be feeling the affects of the cut hard. While Woodly did everything right, and will be fine.

Also going by your argument Woodly should be a massive favourite because he is going to be heavier thanKelvin tonight.

Anyone who has ever cut weight will tell you the same thing.also just look at betting lines since it happened.

Everyone is saying the shirt is blue, and you're still arguing it's purple. At a certain point you must come to the realization that you're the one that is wrong.

I'll admit to applying my general opinion to this specific case where Kelvin is sick and that's what caused all the problems.

That being said, if you think there are going to be problems the professional thing to do is call the promotion and try to work something out with the opponent. No matter how good Woodley's weight cut is it would've been a lot better if he could've stopped at 180.

Don't care for either of them. Cheering for Anderson to be Anderson again but fearing it's unlikely.

Lookin like Silva 2-0

Diaz did more here than in the first round, but that's not saying much.
