The only one to blame in this situation is MLB for having zero accountability over its umpires. Oh you made a bad call? Oh well. That's literally the extent of it. What incentive do umps have to be at the top of their game?

Nah, that's not it at all. Cardinals fans do a good job of filling the stadium too. No issues with them. I hate them because they're obnoxious, entitled *******s.

No issues with the cardinals fan base, the worst behind the Yankees, but thinks the cubs are obnoxious. Ok

This kinda makes my point. It's always someone else's fault. Thanks for the assist.

Lol what? Who is at fault for the bad call then? It's either the ump who made the call or the organization he works for that doesn't hold his actions accountable. This isn't about Lackeys actions after the pitch. It's about the call of the pitch. So maybe, make your point instead of beating around a bush

Want to avoid robot umps? Setup an independent review board. Start issuing suspensions to umpires so they start feeling like they need to be the professionals they are supposed to be. That's the only way robot strikes and balls are avoided.

The ump is obviously responsible for the bad call. He's not in the least responsible for anything that happens after that call. That's 100% on Lackey. "Our whole bullpen usage changes becuase of that call". Lololol, nope. Your bullpen situation changes becuase Lackey is a moron who gave up a hit and wants to deflect the blame away from him.

I've said from the beginning I agreed with the tossing. I made a comment that one bad call now changes the way the cubs use their bullpen. What's false about that? What part of that statement places blame on anyone? Cause and effect. Bad call > ignorant Lackey > cubs bullpen affected. No blame

If it wasn't such a big deal, why would the players union be looking to have day games any time they have to travel? Obviously not as big of a deal going from St. Louis to Chicago, but going from a coast and then playing a day game isn't ideal imo.

I think the point being made is that it's not the call that is the reason the cubs bullpen suffered. It was 100% Lackey

Yup still haven't argued it wasn't Lackey fault. Cause and effect again. Lackey blew up because of a call. Therefor the call changes the cubs bullpen usage. Lackey doesn't blow up if that's called a strike. Is he dumb as ****? Yup. Is he 100% at fault? Yup. Did the bad call play a roll in it? Yup.

I've not heard the name. The A's got a stadium deal supposedly and it will be built within the next 5 years. **** that, move them to Monterrey MX or Mexico City and make things interesting.

No, I live in New York. This is my first game at *Wrigley* since June of last year, been to plenty elsewhere closer to home.

Usually we come back to visit her family around the holidays so there's no baseball on.

Nobody gives a **** about some arbitrary cutoffs. The squaws don't even have the best record in mlb, and only 2 games up in the AL.
