This was just discussed on the rewatchables pod as a rare miss for Tony Scott.

I'm not a huge Wesley Snipes fan and the plot is silly.

Was poking around some old ballplayers and came across Chad Curtis. Dude is currently serving a 7-15 stretch for sexual misconduct with students at the high school he worked.

Thought that was the ASU guy that played while I was in school, but his name was Colin Curtis, he never did much in the majors.

Well he went deep in the bigs! Not a lot of folks can say that.

That's a quote from a Mariners store employee when my friend and I were talking smack about Tuffy Gosewich.

Chad Curtis had an actual career, notably dogging Jim Grey after a Yankee World Series win.

It was so much fun being on 2p2 during this game, nevermind as a Twins fan. Good times.

Tuffy, another ASU original from my college years!

Jeff Larish and Travis Buck were others than never lived up to their potential.

But Dustin Pedroia and Andre Ethier did.

ASU leads basically every hitting category of all time: https://www.baseball-reference.com/schools/bat.shtml

Chad Curtis was not liked by his teammates, or at least whoever edited his wiki page.

Quote:
Curtis had an argument with batting instructor Rod Carew, after which Carew said Curtis was selfish and "uncoachable."
Quote:
Curtis objected to lyrics of a rap song teammate Kevin Mitchell was playing in the clubhouse, and shut off the clubhouse stereo, he exchanged punches with Mitchell, who threw him over a ping pong table
Quote:
During Curtis' playing time in New York he was known "more for his aggressive proselytizing and capacity for moral reprobation than anything he did on the field".[20] He publicly scolded his teammate Derek Jeter, in front of teammates and reporters both near the dugout and at Jeter's locker in the clubhouse, for fraternizing with then-Seattle Mariners shortstop Alex Rodriguez during an on-field fracas between the two teams, telling Jeter he did not know how to play the game.[21][22][23] He also persistently solicited Jeter to attend chapel, after Jeter had already declined.[20] Curtis said: "If I have something that I believe is the truth and it's necessary for other people to come to some type of a recognition or grip of that truth, then I want to share it."[20]
Quote:
Yankee official said: "Chad just couldn't stay around any longer because that act gets tired. Once he became comfortable here, he became a preacher, and it ran its course."[20]
Quote:
Curtis had a heated confrontation in the clubhouse weight room with teammate Royce Clayton that nearly came to blows, after Curtis insisted on turning off rap music that Clayton was playing whose lyrics Curtis objected to. Curtis also turned off a television show in the clubhouse that he disapproved of his teammates watching.[20][13][26][27] During that season he also told outfielder Gabe Kapler, his Jewish teammate, that Kapler was going to hell if he didn't believe that Jesus Christ was his lord and savior.[
Quote:
Gabe Kapler wrote:

I'm floored that I misjudged the character of a man so horribly. Perhaps I was blinded with the mantle of righteous moral authority he always tried to wear and never looked deeper. ... Chad Curtis wasn't the first major leaguer to commit a heinous crime. I'm confident in my assessment, however, that he'll represent the last time that I allow the veil of religion and perceived moral high ground to impede my better judgment of another human being's fiber.[28]

Ive found easily the worst Hall of Famer.

Bruce Sutter! 24 WAR, must have been overrated during his time. 5th in 1982 MVP voting with an ERA of almost 3 as a reliever, 3 walks and 5.4 Ks per 9. What in the mother****?

Oh but he lead the league in SAVES with 36!

He had a couple good years with the Cubs, and was close to replacement level the final 7 years of his 12 year career.

Again I ask. What in the mother****?

Curtis is a lunatic. He was right about the Jeter Arod thing though.
You have to be out of your mind to fight Kevin Mitchell.

Fun story- my brother is a mets fan. He loved Darryl Strawberry.
He came to a Yankees playoff game with me and we got there early for BP. My brother sees Curtis is playing over Strawberry and when curtis is near the fence starts yelling at him telling him that he sucks and that Strawberry should be playing over him. Curtis starts lecturing my brother he shouldn't be cursing blah blah blah and he tells Curtis to go **** himself. Mariano Rivera is right there and stars laughing and then throws a ball to my brother.
