Baker is not a scrub.

/edit Whoever thought stealing 3rd w/ 2 outs was a good idea is a scrub though.

This. Baker is a very serviceable 4th or 5th pitcher.

CHONE projected him at 3.89 over 183 innings this season. That makes him a very good #2 in the AL.

Yeah Baker is quite good. They have like 10 copies of Scott Baker in their organization, too.

I think Slowey >>> Baker but that's because Baker pisses me off.

What kind of scrub gives up a HR to someone in their first MLB at bat? lol

Very (very) marginal 3b prospect. As I posted in the Twins thread I think its pretty cool that he did it on ESPN so his friends/family back in Aussieland were probably watching.

Why did he take Timma out after walking a guy with one out????

If I was just watching the games I would basically bet you any amount of money that Slowey was >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Baker

I'm a huge Baker homer because I spent a ton of time defending him from people after he got rocked for half a season in '06.

I mean he was good sometimes very good in the minors. And his actual stats are fine in the majors, for the most part. But he just looks like he is throwing BP every single time out there.

To be honest, he reminds me a LOT of Brad Radke, I wonder if his peripherals are similar.

Nah he strikes out way more people than Radke, walks a bit more too I'd guess.
