Don't worry, the threats will stop when Mike Brown gets fired.

Los Angeles Lakers coach Mike Brown has been fired after a 1-4 start to the season, a source tells ESPNLosAngeles.com's Ramona Shelburne.
Boom.

That'll cost me $1k to the ACLU.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL LAKERS

USA Today reports that Mike Brown's agent has confirmed Brown has been fired as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers Friday, after the mega-team started the season 1-4.

The move comes as a complete shock, after numberous reports had said the Lakers would give the second-year coach time to work through the early season struggles, especially with Steve Nash on the shelf with a leg injury.

We'll have much more on this throughout the day.

first part true, second part i don't think so.

lakers don't have athletic wings. i think it is hard to be a good defensive team without any.

In B4 it was only pre-season, but...

Lakers are 2-16 going back to the OKC playoff series.

Hiring Mike Brown in the first place is embarrassing. I don't get how such awful coaches continue to find work in professional sports.

This is the most not lol lakers thing they've done all year.

this

letting mike brown hang out to dry for the sake of keeping up appearances would have been more embarrassing than just cutting ties to a mistake ASAP

With Mike Brown being shown the door in LA. LeBron sure looks good since he had no one around him and took that team to the finals with Brown as head coach. Kobe has a dream team around him and could only manage a 1-4 record with Brown. King James ftw.

Part of that might depend on who they hire:

Early speculation on possible coaches to replace Brown centers on former Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni, former Lakers assistant (currently with the Indiana Pacers) Brian Shaw, former Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan and, most prominently, former Lakers coach Phil Jackson.

Current Lakers assistant Bernie Bickerstaff is expected to take the reins on an interim basis when the Lakers host the Golden State Warriors tonight.

lolakers - I hope they hire D'Antoni

great move by lakers, had to be done. think their best bet is d'antoni. he knows nash and they say kobe likes him. he is an offensive coach and the lakers are an offensive team.

Some say they may try to pursue coach K from Duke, but I doubt he'll leave Duke. They think it'd be a good fit since he coached the dream team and LA currently has a dream team.
