Ferrari, just fire the whole team. Q2 was so pathetic.

Yeah, Leclerc is out in Q2 and Sainz going to get a slam dunk penalty. Lol Ferrari

Also Perez never loses an opportunity to fail. Guy is expert at making his own "bad luck"

Happy to see him up there. Wish Albon had a better go in Q3 after making a great call in Q2.

Ferrari nailed the strategy for a change

Alex Albon driver of the weekend, obviously. Fantastic result for Williams

Perez is not going to last much longer if he keeps this up. Wonder if RedBull will go for Norris to get more screen time as right now Verstappen is shown the first 2 laps, his pit stop(s) and the last lap and Perez does nothing worth showing at all. Norris might be able to get closer and give some battles and doesn't seem happy anymore at McLaren.

I think it is about time too that Red bull hired an English driver

I think Norris would be a great signing but I don’t think that’ll happen. Reason is because Max still has a solid 5-8 great years left. Will no doubt be one of the GOATS in F1.

Horner’s top priority is to keep Max and maintain winning championships year after year. Max needs to be happy to re-sign. The kid is petty & so is his Dad, Lando is also young and ambitious, top tier driver. Makes the environment uncomfortable for Verstappen’s.

Redbull wants someone less threatening to Max, good enough to get consistent seconds and not rock the boat. Someone should obedient, easy to babysit/control/manipulate. Too bad Mick Schumacher doesn’t have the skills, seems to be a good kid and will simp to Max.

Huge Longshot, but wouldn’t be surprised if Yuki & Checo actually swapped seats.

Max has no problem with Norris as a team mate and has said so. Jos has no say in these things anymore. The issue is more that Norris probably doesn't want to risk getting beaten by Verstappen and killing his own value while now they can all claim it is just the car.

(Fwiw, I agree Lando wouldn’t go to RB, be embarrassed get assWhooped weekly)

Max Definitely wouldn’t have a problem having Lando as a teammate. Especially in public, gotta be the big man. Their childhood friends.

Problem occurs when you have 2 all star drivers. As mentioned earlier in this thread, Nico-Lewis situation is excellent for fans but horrible for team chemistry. A headache Christian, Helmut would like to not have.
Reading about the Senna-Prost rivalry was just so sad, brutal to be in such toxic environments week after week.

Lewis-Bottas situation was perfect! Everyone understood their roles. One big happy family. Checo can be the Bottas if he can finish 2nd more frequently. Vamos!

Listened to Joe Pompliano’s podcast episode about F1 financials.

Quite a few interesting nuggets.

One that really surprised me was that Ferrari is the only team that gets paid to participate. All other teams have to pay obv but not Ferrari. They receive around 15mill a year.

Mercedes domination helped their car sales massively. Obvious of course, still didn’t realize how big an impact F1 helps with all the car brand. Aston Martin being the safety car greatly increased the car sales too.

Yes they also have a veto power over what regulations are put in place.

The reason being they are the oldest and most prestigious team in the paddock but I think it is also a recognition what its fan base contributes to F1's bottom line.

My wife worked in one of the biggest sports marketing companies and one thing I have learned is that the numbers used when rationalising marketing expenses and campaign impacts contain a lot of bullshit especially when it comes to sports. No doubt F1 increased Mercedes sales but that same amount of money spend elsewhere would probably have increased it even more. Especially the engine costs were immense at that time. We are just lucky some people high up in Daimler are F1 fans and that it all worked out.

Idk - on Lewis merchandise sales alone it would be justified.

Starting to think that Perez is purposely tanking in qualifying but in his case incompetence is much more likely then malevolence.

The “Can I go out again” got me.

Like seriously??? Are you this fkn clueless? Your first time driving in F1?

His times were quite good. Car was well beyond good enough. Just drive within the yellow lines ffs! Get out of Q2 pls.

Not quite as high profile as Checo but Russell seems to be really struggling at the moment too. Not performing close to Hamilton in races or qualifying
