Who is complaining? Its a stupid risk, Manning shouldn't have been in the game in the 4th in Raiders game.

Incidentally, rumor inside Broncos organization is they are strongly considering activating both Hanie and Osweiler Sunday. Only reason would really be they expect to blow out KC and don't want Manning to play 4th. I'd approve.

I think you guys are assuming people have some ethical issue about keeping in the starters. At least in my case that's not true. Its just a dumb risk that only benefits internet power rankings.

I have 3 witnesses that will vouch that I yelled at BB when I was flipping between games and saw that Brady was still in with 5:30 left. If you want I can post these all on Sunday but I think it'd annoy everyone. It's an obv mistake that happens too much so no reason to post it

Better to laugh and point when worst case scenario happens to prevent it from clogging the threads

You must have really been pissed when Brady had his car accident.

That's false. Number one, they wouldn't be playing TE. They would be filling in for 1 meaningless play at a ST position that requires no practice or coaching. It could be literally anyone that isn't a 1st string guy TE, DE, OL, LB, WR, S, FB, HB. And, I can guarantee you there was an abundance of viable options standing on the sideline that could take his spot in a blowout situation.

It only gets pointed out now because we are so desensitized to these zero upside decisions, we have to have something bad happen to wake us up.

There's upside. Snap gets bobbled on a game tying PAT, who do you want going out on the fire call to salvage the conversion, some DE or Gronk? Sure, it's not likely, but neither is a guy suffering an injury blocking on the PAT. It's happened before, see Giants-49ers, probably would have been nice to not have a lineman downfield getting dragged down.

You can reduce the risk even further on your backups by simply taking a knee during the PAT (or during the drive before the PAT!) with no downside. No one blocking or any football of any kind to possibly cause an injury. Sound better?

Where was the outrage over Brees being in these games late?

How do you know that Chase Daniel wasn't in the game feeding the RB every time? Or maybe Drew Brees was doing that.

Actually, I'll just look at the recaps and see what happened.

The game by 55 was against Indy. Brees didn't throw one pass in the 4th quarter. Chase Daniel actually took over with 24 seconds left in the 3rd quarter. He didn't throw a pass.

Game by 29 was against the Failcons. This was for the passing record, so you can definitely be mad or not for that reason. But understandably, Brees is going to be in there.

Game by 28 was the last game of the season against the Panthers. Brees last play was a TD with 12:22 remaining in the game. Seems like a reasonable time to pull him out.

Game by 25 was against the Giants. Looks like Brees was in the whole game, but his last pass was with about 11 minutes to go.

Game by 22 was against the Vikings. Brees was in for the beginning of the 4th quarter. Saints got a TD with about 13 minutes and it looks like he was pulled after that, but the NFL.com summary play-by-play isn't showing him being replaced even though Chase Daniel made a pass to Colston on a second down. So, it's also possible he was pulled against the Giants. Either way, this one is super standard, and Brees was in for the appropriate amount of time.

None of these seem egregious, and the only one that was obviously suboptimal was for a record. I guess the Indy one could be called late, but they did score 14 points in the 4th quarter and Brees started his final drive with 7:46 in the third quarter and ended at 1:46. Unless you pulled him before the drive, you won't pull him later in the drive.

also terrible because it is valuable to get your backups in-game reps in case they need to play

is there some kind of "make a stupid post" contest going on?

bad call on field, 80 yard TD run gonna be called back, but before the refs review it, he throws his challenge flag.

rule states that if u throw ur flag in a spot where there's an auto review then you forfiet your right to the review and get a 15 yd penalty on top.

so basically he cost his team 95 yards and 7 points with his decision to throw his flag.

Scoring play. Should have been auto reviewed, but since Schwartz threw flag it can no longer be reviewed and Detroit got 15 yd penalty to boot.
