But ya whatever one unique example, obv they should have been and both teams should be throwing more
Third down play was worst of the bunch.

Skill players on the team: Edge James, Dallas Clark, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, GOAT QB decision maker.

Play call: Fade to Aaron Moorehead.

Tilts me to no end when people conflate bad play-calling with going-for-it-on-4th-down-to-be-a-bad-decision.

"SEE!? We should have taken the points! No way was that running back fade pass to the fullback going to work!"

I've decided that the very best use of google glass in society would be giving a nfl head coach a continuous display right in front of his face of the score, time outs remaining, down and distance, go for 2 chart, go on 4th down chart, etc.

rivera is accidentally setting up a 4th and 1 newton sneak to be about 95% successful in a key moment by calling nothing but passes and tolbert runs right now

The irony is that now that Rivera has a shot at the playoffs he'll probably go back to being ultra-conservative 4th down guy

Virginia just had 1st and goal at the 2, 16 seconds to go in the first half, one timeout, down 14-10. First down they run down to the one, play ends with 12 seconds left on the clock. They let the clock run down to 6 seconds before calling their final timeout, then run into the line on second down and get stuffed, and the half ends. Good job, good effort.

Is this wrong :

Richmond scores a TD to make the score 24-41 with 10min left.

They went for 2.

As I'm typing I think it's correct now since you will know if it's a 3 score game or not?

Huge fan of James Franklin at Vandy, but every game he has at least one total WTF.

Last week they tried a 43 yard FG up 4 with under 20 seconds to go.

This week he had the QB pooch punt on 4th & 5 into a really stiff wind (punt went 5 yards).

nebraska out of timeouts down 3, use their last time out to stop clock at 1:30ish. monny 2nd and goal at the 3. dont allow minny to score on their next running play so now they are gonna get the ball back with like 5 seconds left.

well now minny scored on 3rd down despite nebraska trying to stop them so they will get the ball back with :40

I liked the announcer saying you run it down to 12 seconds then kick the fg.

Indiana State is down 56-10 mid 3rd quarter, 4th and 9 and they attempt a 36 yard FG, which gets blocked.

Meh, there's a point at which it doesn't matter what you do and you may as well work on whatever your team needs work on. Which apparently includes blocking for FG attempts.

they were playing ND State, who you might remember won @ Kstate, is unbeaten, and is the 2 time defending FCS champs.

They had a 0% WP when it was written on the schedule.

At the risk of looking like a ******, what would the right play be here? I assume spiking it on 2nd down considering you only ever have time for two more plays anyway?

call TO immediately and throw twice then kick a FG or go on 4th.

Take your timeout immediately so you have 12 seconds left, that guarantees you at least one, possibly two quick fades/slants to the endzone before deciding whether or not to run or kick on the final play of the half

I guess. Seems like one play with an open playbook might be preferable to one possibly two plays where you're ~guaranteed to throw quick slants or fades. With 12 seconds left i guess there's usually enough time to get two throws off and have time to run another play.

If they thought that they really needed to work on practicing for FG attempts more than running more offensive plays, then why didnt they kick the FG on like second down or something, so as not to risk gaining first downs/TDs and not getting a chance to work on this crucial part of their game?
