You must be a bandwagon fan, or this just shows the quality of fan in SD, and why there are so many blackouts.
Stop posting. These are both top 10 QBs in the league.
Pffftt. I've forgotten more about this game then you'll ever know in your lifetime. Did he or did he not replace a future HOF QB? yes or no answer. His injury was an excuse to bring in Rivers, clear cap space, and diffuse a QB situation created by AJ. Most had confidence that Brees would come back from that... that is why he was pursued prior to playing the very next season. If you didn't know, i'm sure Drew Brees did.
We are talking about the past aren't we? ... or am I only allowed to talk about the future. What do you think the future holds with Norv and AJ at the helm still? 8-8? The best team in the NFL to not make the playoffs 3 years in a row?
If I have your permission can I talk about the past couple draft years like 1st round busts Larry English, Buster Davis, or maybe even the releasing of an Antonio Cromartie or Darren Sproles. I look at the entire body of work of AJ Smith, not just the last 2 years. My evaluation is he is hit or miss. He isn't entirely bad at drafting talent even though he has made mistakes and has had 1st rd. busts. Where he really fails imo is in the resigning process and evaluation of who to keep and who to get rid of. Ex: Steve Gregory.
But, right now AJ Smith isn't the only problem the Chargers have right now. The guy that is really blowing it for the entire Charger organization at this point starts at the Top. Dean Spanos.
