Maybe he'll come back to Dallas as an OC, history there and Garrett's basically a Norv disciple so it would probably be a good fit. That would leave Garrett free to focus on things like time out management, and assessing the risk of things like throwing deep outs against All-Pro corners when holding a small lead near the end of the game damn it I hate you

That trend(replacing coaches) of the Raiders is over, it stops with Hue. When he was hired last year as an offensive Coordinator, the Raiders were last in offense(the previous year), but under the guidance of Hue, they finished 10th in offense, a hell of an upgrade, it was only the inevitable, that they would improve this year, it was questionable with Campbell under center, but they went 4-3 with him because their running attack was best in the league, and that's Hue's specialty(running backs and quarterbacks), since prior to being a Coordinator, he was initially a running backs coach(91-94, then a quarterbacks coach(95+)), which was exactly what we needed. Someone that could improve those areas.

A.J. Smith is probably going nowhere because he's tight with the Spanos family, but they haven't drafted well for a while, either. And I remember reading a piece earlier in the year that suggests Smith is prickly and doesn't work well with others-- people around the league call him "The Lord of No Rings".

But on the topic of Norv, no less an authority than Jerry Rice thinks he's a hack who can't get it done.

If you watch the video link in there, one of the pundits quotes Rice as saying "Norv Turner is the worst head coach I've ever played for on any level, through the NFL, college, high school, and even pee wee ball." The pundit mentions that he's given Rice several chances to retract or amend that statement and he always refuses.
