While obviously the WIM of Cahill will be missed, Leckie has shown a ton of it over his two games, can't wait to see him unleashed vs Espanlol

I did love the one stat mentioned in the Aussie/Holland game where Adam Taggart had 16 goals for the Newcastle Jets last season where as Emile Heskey had 1

I watched the replay of that amazing Cahill goal. Afterwards when they are panning the crowd of AUS supporters, they showed a woman in an AUS shirt shaking a Canadian flag??? Does Cahill have some type of tie to Canada, or was that just some sort of "hooray for countries!" celebration?

You left out Thiago, Jese (if he recovers to full form), Isco, Iturraspe, all of whom might be startes in the next eurocup. Also Cesc and Pique are part of the old and complacent. Pique so much so that he didnt play against Chile.

Holland was one thing. In the first half Spain might have even been the better team. Chile was another thing altogether. They just kicked Spains ass up and down the field. It was depressing to see how they pressed and then how Spain languidly went through the motions of passing the ball around until they lost it again. They were outclasses, overpowered, destroyed.

Spain did try to exploit the aerial game. All the set plays were that. It's about the only aspect of the game they did half decently. Problem is it's irrelevant if you can't get the ball somewhere near the goal, which they couldn't.

He was saying what players should play in the final game as they are the future of Spanish football.
The players you listed cannot play as they aren't at the world cup

Infinite possible explanations. A lot of Canadians/Aussies do year long working holiday trips to the other country as we each have what the other is missing (Australia = beaches and sunshine, Canada = mountains and awesome ski resorts). But yeah there's also a bit of an affinity between the countries, we see each other as quite similar culturally. Since Canada isn't in the WC I could see a Canadian deciding to adopt Australia as their team.

i thik the most interesting match to watch today will be Spain - Australia, i hope Australia will crush them so hard that Spain won't play in another international competition before they fired all the team and gave a chance to the youth

Fact of the day:

The Netherlands will play for the first time in 221 international fixtures without a "Van" in the selection. On 29/05/96, the Netherlands played a friendly against China with De Goey, Reiziger, Blind, Seedorf, Numan, Winter, Bergkamp, Witschge, Taument, Mulder and Hoekstra. De Kock, Ronald de Boer, Davids, Jordi Cruijff and Cocu were the substitutes.

Last time we didn't have a "Van" in the squad was back in 2011 against the USA.

Two WC games at the same time!

But it's so hard to care when both games are literally meaningless.

Chile-Netherlands matters, (likely) dodging Brazil next round is a huge deal for WC equity
