Wow, that actually does suck.

I was overjoyed when Thiago Silva received his suspension, and I have nothing against Neymar not playing, but a serious injury like that? Really ****ing sucks for the kid.

Wish him all the best.

Also they probably should be using something more sophisticated than a toboggan from Toys 'R' Us, but a little late for that now.

FIFA won't do it because then they'd have to admit the players they send off are acting. LOLUSA handegg and all but at least when guys get f'd up in sports here tons of precautions are taken.

As an example:

Worst design ever. Must be some innovative crap that got a marketing deal with FIFA. I guess at least people don't fall off...
They were insisting at having games at midday with no stoppages, someone could die from their stupidity.

Neymar injury came from obvious ingenous referee instructions to hold the cards, obviously players jumped up the agression and someone scummy thought it was fine to give a knee to someone spine.

This game there should be 2 red cards for the same guy, knee to the back and sole to the side of the knee of hulk. A red for the guy kicking david luiz from the back without the ball and 2 yellows for fernandinho.

The brazil goalie a yellow, not a red since there was a defender that took the ball away.

Precautions...don't even let players play with the best helmets vs. the single most dangerous injury type in football for marketing/sponsorship reasons.

NFL is pretty good reacting to injuries though. Head trauma protocol needs to be adopted in soccer ASAP for example (lol @Chilean player this WC for example)

Well, there was that span in the EPL at the start of the season with the Lloris injury and others where it was borderline ridiculous how head injuries were treated.

Yeah, Belgium worked beautifully between the lines against USA. Got 1v1 against Howard about 10 times. They were very impressive to me.

I'm rooting for Argentina though. Messi deserves a World Cup.

What's a good # for the # of German players hurt in the Brazil game? (hurt defined as having to leave the game)

I guess 0.5 would be a good starting line?

Welp. I just don't want a Brazil - Netherlands final. I think I'm OK with everything else.

I agree, I was cellying hard when Silva got his yellow because he did it himself (well you can argue it's harsh to give a yellow there after letting everything go before, but at least he didnt get ****ing jumped in the back). Müller saw a sketchy yellow in the quarter in 10 so i'd almost say we got Late payback

Neymar though... Misses what are going to be the biggest games of his career. This was supposed to be his tournament, and he lived up to the expectations which i didnt think was possible... And then that happens. Awful

Yep. Closest is probably 2006, maybe 1990, how were England rated back then?
