*Ahem*....Cannavaro......

Also Rio > Puyol.

Also Casillas....

Edgar Davids best years>>>Veira best years

Messi>original Ronaldo.

lets get this right, Messi can do the things Ronaldo could do plus he is much more a team player.

Where will Landon Donovan go?

Can definitely see that tbh.

Also from that Juve epic era Del Piero was elite in his day.

I think Buffon in 06ish is better then Cas. I always thought Nesta>Cannavaro. Mmm What years for Rio? 06-07?

no love for Zizou?

edit: yeah i'm dumb, didn't see the whole has to be active thing...

what round would a peak Makalele fall into? Seedorf? Ballack? Pirlo? where does Xavi fit in?

Davids owned Keane like Veira never could.

Davids in what? 99-00 or 00-01?

Can't confirm whether or not Romario is still playing, but he did play one game last year down in Brazil.

Delli Alpi, April 1999. Don't think Davids ever received a raping quite like it.

previous to this they played 3/4 times in CL and Davids owned Keane.

iirc out of 5 or 6 years in the CL UTD played Juve a number of times before the semi.

i'm not great with dates RT, but before the 99 semi with UTD Davids was boss.

I would go 1998. Combination of Juve domination (lost CL final tho) and a great WC.

97-98 it is.

1. Ronaldo 96-97/97-98/Ronaldinho 05-06

Thats my list so far haha. Second I think I can sneak in Rivaldo and third round could be Davids.

Ronaldo is definitely #1, he was untouchable at his peak and has a good case for the greatest striker ever

Messi this past two years has been unstoppable (barring Mourinho and Maradona).
10-25-2010 , 08:39 PM
WC exploits put Fat Ron over the edge imo. But Messi's career will likely end up considered the greater. I think Fat Ron is the #1 draft pick in this format.

Yeah me too, but these guys aren't that great in the world of football and could quite possibly put Messi and even Ronaldo over El Phenom.
10-25-2010 , 08:43 PM
Yeah people will underrate guys at the end of their careers in this giving many steal opportunities.
10-25-2010 , 08:45 PM
Would Aimar or Ballack be better then Davids in the 3rd round?

Didn't some Australian team hire him for 3 games or something, meant to be terrible but still got a goal or two to add to his tally (think he costs 60k for 3 games lol)
10-25-2010 , 08:48 PM
That was Adelaide United in like 07.
10-25-2010 , 08:50 PM
I mentioned Ballack in my original post but forgot about Davids.

IMO at peak:

Davids>Ballack>>Aimar.

I'm a huge Aimar fan fwiw but he was never as world class as the other two and I feel his position has many players playing now who are superior. Tbh Riquelme > Aimar at peak.
10-25-2010 , 08:58 PM
Litmanen is still playing as well.

Doubt many people know so he can be a huge steal in the later rounds.

Great shout.
