What was the attendance?
05-23-2011 , 05:32 PM
Just got back to my local from OT, fair play to them, they were the better side, thought the scoreline flattered them somewhat (no idea what the hell the penalty for their second was for) and we looked iffy at the back after maguire went off injured. Glad we managed to bag one. Lot to look forward to for both sides iyam

edit at above - given we had 7k, would say about 25k

64, do you think a few of this side will be in the first team picture for the League 1 campaign?

as an aside, whoever was the tall black lad wearing 11 for them will need coaching on set pieces, he was actually putting corners in to an area where united could score, if he wants to step up to the next level he'll need to learn how to smack it into the first defender or over everyone

Va velzen. How awkward does he run though lol.

Van Velzen is weird. At times when he dribbles it seems like his feet are stuck in quicksand but still he manages to beat his man at a pretty good rate. Needs to work on his awareness and vision though and not just stick his head down and run.

Arsène Wenger says he is ready to spend big this summer but fears being caught up in a 'hyperactive' transfer market.

Arsenal ended a season which promised so much at one point with no silverware and needing to qualify for the Champions League after a fourth-placed finish in the Premier League.

Having been taunted by some sections of the Gunners' travelling supporters at Fulham on Sunday for their failure to end their six-year wait for a trophy Wenger has vowed to open his cheque book and strengthen his squad this summer.

"The market will be hyperactive because everyone believes financial fair play will happen soon,' he told Telefoot.

"We have to face many comments, but I have enough experience that the club is in a healthy financial situation and we have got the basis of the team - but we know we want to be stronger next year.

"For the first time in a while, I will be very active."

Despite the season only ending on Sunday Arsenal are already being linked Chris Samba, Gary Cahill, Eden Hazard and Maarten Stekelenburg as they look to bring an end to their wait for silverware.

Let's hope he means it and acts quickly so everyone can adjust and learn to play Arsenal's game. Then again, he probably considers buying 3 cheap squad players to be very active.

Like the end of the season where I fully expected us to lose our last 2 games, I'm expecting the worst (everything short of no signings over 10m and both Nasri and Cesc leaving) and any actual name players/big signings are just a bonus given our/Arsene's history.
05-23-2011 , 06:45 PM
for many various reasons, I honestly believe we will bring in a 20M+ player.

of course, so far, rumors are circulating that our first signing is some Argentinian AM on a free...

What do you think will be a higher value, the price at which we sell Denilson+Bendtner at (combined), or our most expensive summer signing?

the latter

on the conservative end, I see Denilson going for 5M and Bendtner for 10M euros at the minimum, and probably in the 12-15M range.

I could see a mid table English club (Sunderland? Fulham? Everton?) use Bendtner very effectively in a 2 striker setup, especially one that can cross the ball decently. He doesn't work for us, but he's far from useless.

Badminton thinks Defoe is worth 10M (which is probably too much anyway) and Bendtner >>> Defoe by far.

Diego bournaette I think is the youg lad. Very good player but ,acks the physical side.

Newcastle is the ideal candidate based on that criteria, but lets see if they spend.

the only thing he'll be doing very actively will involve his right hand and one of his 16 year old boys
