Also Babel sounds like a ******, which is no surprise because he also looks like a ****** and plays like a ******.

He may look like an idiot and talk like an idiot; but don't let that fool you... he really is an idiot.

lol, was skimming espn soccernet with my bberry for mobile headlines and I noticed "Redknapp: I want to buy 3 players" and I giggled with delight cause I knew that would wind Hoopie up
07-26-2010 , 09:17 AM
also is bigsoccer the realgm & HF boards of soccer?

There's a thread in the MLS section along the lines of "how would the MLS all-star team do in the EPL?".

I don't think you can fathom the % of ppl who are predicting top half of table & top 4.

Most ridic comment: Shalrie Joseph is just as good as Wilson Palacios

Footy brings out an even worse version of the message board mouthbreather since unlike basketball there aren't a lot of stats that you can quickly put up to put them in their place.
07-26-2010 , 09:22 AM
Surely you can just quote wage stats at them?
07-26-2010 , 09:25 AM
^ yeah pretty much that's the only way.

Gee those ******s at 'Spurs. I mean they could just sell Palacios for 20 MM #, buy Joseph for 2MM, cut their wages on the player by 90% and re-invest the money in the club w/o losing anything on the field ..... but apparently they're too dumb

more interesting question would be where does the MLS all-star team finish in the Championship .... big wild card now that they have Henry and he might have something left in the tank.

If you don't know much about Shalrie Joseph that's fine, but MLS has turned down multiple multi-million dollar bids in the past for him. The main one I remember was I think 4 or 5 from Celtic in 2008ish. He's certainly not as good as Palacios, but he's easily European quality.

Also, MLS All-Stars (a TRUE all star team, not just who got voted in this time) get promoted within two attempts in the Championship, in my opinion. This can be pretty easily shown by checking back in two years and seeing what clubs current MLS players are then playing on or had offers refused from.

^ Oh I know all about Shalrie Joseph. IMO he's way underpaid at NE at ~ 300k/yr. He's much more effective than J De Guzman who, nobody knows for sure, but could be making as much as 3 mill per. Would love to have him on TFC.

But I mean come on .... to even suggest he's in the same ballpark as Palacios is turrrrible.
07-26-2010 , 10:22 AM
^ and the offers were 1MM & 2MM. We're talking a 10-fold difference in bids and wages compared to WP.

"Massive fan" does not recognize one of the team's player's by name. Then again, just knowing the team colors qualifies as being a massive fan in the U.S., right?

Anyhow, its all a made-up story. Babel trying to remind everyone he's still alive.

Yeah I was there. Fun times except it being about 105 degrees with the sun directly overhead.

Second half we moved up top in the shade where the Spurs supporters section was. Lots of singing and they even kept it going into the Red Bulls/City match (which was incredibly awful, left at half).

Mix of Brits and Americans, lots of Englishmen around though for the two matches I attended.

Does anyone here regularly travel with Ryanair? A friend made a booking for a group of us and made a mistake with one of the names, the surname booked was supposed to be Mcgrath but he booked McGraph.

Ryanair charge £100 (yes thats right £100) for a name change on a flight, considering the flight only cost £55 return it's pretty pointless to go ahead with it, I argued that because you print your own boarding pass and the ryanair staff at the gate just scan the barcode on ur boarding pass you could prob jusr risk it and get the flight anyway as it's unlikely they check ur boarding pass vs ur passport very closely.

thoughts??
