Eboue is hilarious. I heard he once showed up to a formal team Christmas party in a tiger costume.

Giggys or Vidic to win it. It looks like people are just randomly naming players who are either good, or have been good for 1 or 2 games. That's why Torres isn't in the list, he's been out half the season... I agree that he's a great player and is probably the best in the world for a striker*.

*And that's from a Man Utd fan.
Kingweed as a fellow United fan I hate to point this out to you, it pains me it really does. But Giggs hasn't been close to our best player this year. He is behind:

VDS
Vidic
Rio
Rafael
Carrick
Fletcher
Ronaldo
Rooney

Nevermind player of the season Premiership wide. He barely scrapes top 10 at United.

Not only that but apparantly people are just randomly naming players who were good 2 seasons ago etc. Like who? Give an example? There isn't one person who has been mentioned so far that I can see who is a worse nomination than Giggs. Sure its cool to see him still able to occasionally perform at his age but 4 or 5 decent cameos does not a player of the season make.

Torres has been out half the season so can't be selected? He has played MORE than Giggs this season and scored in virtually every big game.

Sorry but it had to be said.

Hicks seems like a jackass, but Gillett seems like a good guy.

Also, no love for "Le Sulk" and his 15 league goals in 27 starts?

Gerrard and Ireland imo.

Lampard should be a lock. Jagielka not even mentioned f**king joke
04-17-2009 , 08:01 AM
Lampard is in some of his best ever form, he is pretty much the sole reason we are still competing in all competitions. Yes other players have since stepped up, but during the latter end of small phils reign, he was pretty much carrying the team single handed.

I know I am biased but this year I would say that Lamps is playing better football than Gerrard, he keeps adding things to his game, always improving. Last year I would have little problem conceding that Gerrard was in the better form.

As much as i hate Liverpool i have to say Gerrard is twice the player Lamps is - different gravy.

Oh and Lamps is fu**ing Fat!

Gerrard is not even the best pool player this year btw.
04-17-2009 , 08:56 AM
Huh?

Gerrard
Torres

Mascherano Xabi

Everyone else at liverpool.

Alonso is phenomenal this season. Its kind of sad his position is ... hmm do not know how to describe it ... is least seen/noticable?
04-17-2009 , 10:20 AM
And Sir Bluenose whines to the press again, together with Fat Sam:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2...nitez-ferguson

At the end of this clip you will see the extremely provocative gestures made by Benitez:
http://videos.sapo.pt/Bo3t4oS1k0NyMVmYLHcG
First Benitez points at Sam, making a gesture with his hand and mouth as if he is sucking on a penis, then he gives him the finger with both hands while giggling and jumping up and down like a maniac, before closing with a raspberry. If you blink you'll miss it, but it is there.

it was a great argument

tsc, what do you think of the united/arse matchup?
04-17-2009 , 01:13 PM
Alonso and Gerrard have been as good as each other with Torres very close behind mostly because of less appearances. After that none of their players have particularly impressed.
04-17-2009 , 01:14 PM
for the cl or just for whatever comes? **** we might play 4 times in the next few weeks. Thats really gay.

As for what I think about it....**** man.... bad injuries to our back line at the wrong time. Apparently Clichy has a stress fracture on his vertebrae and is out for a bit.

I really like our attacking options at the moment, but without our pacey FB's I don't like the matchups with ManU or Chelsea for that matter.

Agree with the overall sentiment, though Gerrard has been better/more influential than Alonso. I think Mascherano deserves a mention, and little Insua on left back has been very promising. Only 19 years old, but I can see him in the first team for the next ten years.
