2012
As the new date drew nearer, airlines amended their timetables to reflect their plans to operate from BER. On the retail side of the airport shops and restaurants prepared for the opening. As the airports in Tegel and Schönefeld were to close once the last flights of 2 June had been serviced, a major logistics operation for moving the airports' infrastructure was launched. Vehicles, equipment and supplies that were needed at Tegel until the final moments would have been transported to BER during the night of 2–3 June. To allow this, the authorities planned to restrict the highways linking the two airports (A113, A100 and parts of A111) to airport traffic only.[91] Rundfunk Berlin Brandenburg, the national broadcaster for Berlin and Brandenburg, scheduled 24 hours of continuous live coverage of the airport move.[92] A special Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt Airport, operated with an Airbus A380, was scheduled as the first departure from the new airport on 3 June at 06:00.[92]

On 8 May 2012 just 26 days before the move, FBB again postponed the opening date.

750 display screens have already reached the end of their service life and will need to be replaced, as they were switched on for 6 years despite the airport not being open
Crikey, so much for ruthless German efficiency! I blame Ozil.

A bank I used to work for financed the Aladdin casino in Vegas. They built the main entrance on the wrong side of the hotel (i.e. not on the strip). I'm still not quite sure how this happened.

Never mind buildings, I waited 17 years until Duke Nukem Forever was finally released and at a sensible price to purchase. Still not played it five years later

We are going to be a continuous punchline this season I fear. Levy best not give himself another raise this year.
08-14-2018 , 12:47 AM
Yeah, the jokes are getting more desperate though.

No longer is it blah blah regress to the mean, Kane is a one-season wonder, etc, it's because OUR STADIUM WILL OPEN A FEW WEEKS LATE OMG LOLSPURS!!!!!!!!!11

This will probably be the year we end up tripping over a trophy.
08-14-2018 , 12:57 AM
tbf there was also the whole not signing anyone thing

but re-signing current players and not selling Toby are like new signings!
08-14-2018 , 01:16 AM
Yeah, but then unlike Plop, Arse and Chelsea we're not selling our best players.

That said, I'd feel a lot better if Eriksen signed a new deal.
08-14-2018 , 01:27 AM
Yeah you finished third last season with no trophies and have no hopes of being ahead of plop this season but at least you're not selling! The new stadium delay is just the cherry on top of the lolLevy sundae

Anyone who thinks that Spurs fans haven't really ****ing enjoyed the last few seasons for the most part is mental, fwiw.

kind of a weird deflection given the biggest player any of those teams lost this summer was Courtois, but Chelsea bought Kepa & Jorginho, loaned in Kovacic, and got some loan players back like Loftus-Cheek

i guess you wanna go back in time and talk about Coutinho, Sterling, and Suarez, but i'm guessing they're ok with that after adding Salah, Mane, Firminho, Alisson, Keita, Fabinho, Shaqiri, etc

as for Arsenal, i guess you mean Sanchez, but he's kinda old & **** now
other than that they haven't lost an important player since like RVP 5 years ago
more recently they've added Auba, Lacazette, Torreira, Mkhitaryan, etc

Ah yeah, just like we were going to finish below Plop for 9 out of the last 10 seasons, and then, um, didn't.

Of course, it's been an insanely good turnaround and hanging on to Kane particularly was pretty fantastic. It's just the hilarious smugness of the fans performing above your means yet winning nothing plus the praise of Levy which I'm still not sure has moved to irony considering how terrible the stadium development plan + no signings have been.

Rest assured I want Spurs to beat plop in the table. We must maintain the plop

He's the prime example of Mourinho's kiss of death. His age has nothing to do with it, no one collapses like that when they turn 29.
