My theory is that we have been subjected to so much dross that when someone can do the defensive basics well it is a sight for sore eyes. Like heading the ball out and clearing the ball, making smart defensive fouls etc.

I have a slight fear that Guendouzi is the same...while watching so much of Xhaka, not doing absolutely ******ed things just elevates you and you are suddenly the player of the month. Although I have a soft spot for the fr0g sideshow bob, but a conversation with Ledders tonight made me realize that probably I'm overrating him quite a bit due to the above mentioned stuff.

Late to the party on this, but yeah this seems an absurd take. Moura's pressing is fantastic and against Utd he was still chasing down lost causes in the final few mins when the game was over. His heading ability is also really surprising.

Can certainly see why PSG £40m on him when that was still a serious amount of money - not sure I've really seen a weakness in his game yet.
