Spoiler:
GYLFI

Of course if you charge little enough you could fill two Wembleys. I assume Spurs are going to reduce ticket prices to be fair. £45 is cheap in London. Would be slightly above average north of London I would think.

Not that I would ever bet against Spurs, but +300 on Chelsea seems like a square price..

45 quid is probably the cheapest seats tbh looking at where they are, was all that was left (plus I wanted to be near my dad and my brother's season tix).

I remember paying 65 quid for a Spurs ticket at ****ing WHL back in 2010 or so, so I'm pleasantly surprised by this. We've always been expensive.

Then again, cheapest NFL ticket to see the god awful Jets is like $100 face, so I'm used to ridiculous prices now.

The Juventus ticket prices were an absolute joke. Nice to see Spurs fans make a stand and stay away in droves from that gouging..

For those reminiscing about 90's PL, you might want to try the comedian Josh Widdicombe's podcast - Quickly Kevin; will he score? The 90s Football Show. It's had some good guests so far, and is described as:
Quote:
A series in which 90’s football aficionado Josh Widdicombe is joined by friends, and fellow 90s experts, co-host Chris Scull and ‘Director of Podcast’ Michael Marden, as the trio embark on a tour of niche football topics of the period 1st January 1990 to 31st December 1999.

I don't get it with Ross Barkley. If rumours are true, Everton want to sign him to a new deal despite having signed Gylfi and both Chelsea and Spurs are sniffing around for a fee of ~£25 million.

He's not good enough to start for Everton and we've seen plenty of him to make that judgement and at 23 I don't see a convincing case for unrealised potential. He doesn't have the footballing brain IMO.

I would say his situation as well as Kyle Walker's transfer fee shows what a premium the Home Grown rule puts on English players. Everton surely take £25 million and laugh about it given his contract situation, if he's not English. Similarly, Chelsea wouldn't look at him twice for half the price.

Or am I missing something?

Starting for Everton seems about his level, obviously not good enough to start for Spurs or Chelsea

Now Everton have Gylfi, who should be on right footed dead balls in attacking positions 100% of the time he's on the pitch, I think Barkley will be benched more often than not.

In context, the NFL games at Wembley are surprisingly cheap. Maybe they're worried about filling it out.

Honestly I am not sure he's good enough to start for Everton. Him leaving should be to find guaranteed starts, if he wants to go to a bigger club he's deluded.

Wembley is gonna feel pretty empty when we get into November and there's 30k empty seats for West Brom visiting.

health and fatness lads,

been doing a load of rowing machine-ing, woke up with a sore/tight lower back about a month ago so took a day off, next morning back felt brand new, back to gym

woke up with same thing cpl days ago, took a day off, still sore the next morning. went to gym as normal to test it out and it didn't really bother me too much during the gymming but was worse when i got home. feels about the same this morning as it did yesterday pre-gym. i wanna gym later on today

would describe it as like 2/10 on the pain scale

should i just take some days off until it (hopefully) goes away or does it sound like the sort of thing i can safely work through
08-17-2017 , 09:57 AM
Take a rest or do something else that doesn't hit your back as intensively and proceed with caution. I'd go with rest and watch some youtube vids on how to row properly. You're probably making a simple mistake that is easy to fix.

Don't do any exercise where you feel like you have to push through the pain (however low it is). Ideally, go see a doctor/physio.

fwiw i dont think its a problem with rowing technique, was taught by a mate who used to row competitively

think my problem is i keep trying to squat too much and lose any semblance of proper form on the final couple reps

aight ill do some cycling or sth until this thing is sorted and if its not better in a week go see someone. gd i hate cycling

Don't push any injury with your back is good advice. Does it feel like an injured sort of tightness or is it just DOMs?
08-17-2017 , 10:27 AM
had to wiki DOMs,

Quote:
Delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) is the pain and stiffness felt in muscles several hours to days after unaccustomed or strenuous exercise.

The soreness is perceived as a dull, aching pain in the affected muscle, often combined with tenderness and stiffness. The pain is typically felt only when the muscle is stretched, contracted or put under pressure, not when it is at rest.
yes that is a perfect description. its doms all the way
08-17-2017 , 10:35 AM
feel much better now that i'm pretty sure i'm just DOMsing. thank you doctors ledders arjun and raz, i will follow your advice and take it easy for a bit
08-17-2017 , 11:11 AM
Do a bit of stretching and go again when it subsides. It should then not come back as you've adapted. Generally DOMS only appears when you are knew to an exercise or movement.

Just go see a Pool doctor. They're pretty good at dealing with back pains.

Be a fat bloke at the pub (like me) and do nothing resembling exercise and profit.

Never injured an elbow drinking.
