Losing him was a big loss for sure because he was a quality player, but Glenn Whelan has stepped up his game and is the only player alongside Butland who could realistically claim to be our best performer so far this season.

Obv new players bedding in has led to inconsistencies too but the main reason we've struggled is we've badly missed Shawcross. He's had back issues for the last few seasons and has played through the pain barrier but the club decided to send him to a specialist in the summer to hopefully eradicate this issue once and for all. He's played a few U21 games and then was forced to play the whole 120 mins v Chelsea due to injuries so, fingers crossed, he'll regain form and reach an even higher level in the coming seasons.

The guy is, imo, one of the best pure defenders in the league. If he had the ball-playing skills of John Stones he'd probably be top 5 in the world. Luckily for Stoke City (whilst underrated outside of the club) his abilites on the ball aren't amazing otherwise he wouldn't be playing for us. Fingers crossed there are no more serious issues. If the operation was a big success you'll see it in our results over the next few months without doubt.

nice one. am of the same opinion. but *adopts blue tinted specs* we seem to get these things spot on.

Lollllllllll I already have Chelsea not top 4 at 10:1.

I'll do if they get relegated you give me $750. If they get top 4 you get 2$. Everything else a push. Escrow required.

You're welcome.

Surprised if Benteke doesn't get the start, but I'm fine with that lineup.

fair play to you. I laid both City and Chelsea at 1.03 for top 4, but jumped out for a profit a couple of weeks into the season. Wish I'd held onto the Chelsea side of it

I'll be surprised if Benteke doesn't start as well. The leaked lineup was wrong last week so could very well be wrong again.

One bookie was taking bets a few days ago as to who was coming out! :/ wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the two that were meant to don't cos of the publicity it has got already.

But they beat a second-string Bournemouth side 1-0 on Wednesday night, Klopp is the greatest.

Rested Midweek Sadio Mané vs Leaky Bournemouth.

Hatrick 40/1

Quid on it.

Sacking such an elite performer, who's delivered phenomenal results for years, because of a short term drop in performance is something no other industry would even seriously consider.
It's a great suggestion, however I suspect Mourinho would prefer to be sacked, given the size of his contract.

Will be interesting how the Caniero situation plays out - Chelsea could be waiting to pull the trigger if they, and by association Mourinho, are guilty of constructive dismissal which they might use to try and avoid paying his contract up.

Costa's turned up with his bag so he's fit.

I'm thinking Loftus Cheek starts or something.
