Ha. About 25 years ago we played in the Makita Tournament at Highbury - it was the old equivalent of the Emirates Cup. It featured Arsenal, us (and we were properly **** back at the time), a useful Sampdoria side and someone else, possibly Panathaniakos.
I think they had fielded a weakened side in the opening game against us, Vialli wasn't playing, along with some of the other bigger names. Anyway, they basically destroyed us, without trying very hard. They were 4-0 and George Parris scored for us, grabbed the ball out of the net and ran back to the centre circle. From there, Sampdoria scored another goal straight away. That moment basically was West Ham.
A guy called Renato Buso scored four for them that day. Afterwards the Sampdoria coach said he had a knock or something and was only operating at 60%.
