I mean, it's a question of what do you want / expect from the manager of a club like Everton. Most fans expect way too much, and are too quick to demand change and improvement without any understanding of exactly what needs to be changed or how it might improve anything.
I like Bob's simplicity of style and I appreciate the high-variance nature of his approach. He took over from a superb manager who had over-achieved for a decade, but who had done so by shrewdly managing a limited budget and grinding out results. Bob was ambitious enough to believe he could drive the club even further forward by imposing a winning mentality on the club, and while that was always unrealistic it's too early to judge him as a failure. Managers don't get anywhere near enough time to have a meaningful impact on long-term performance.
Bob's ambitious / naive plan has backfired pretty hard this season, and we've thrown away countless winning positions despite being the "better" side (mostly superficially, sure) but it's been an honest attempt to entertain and succeed. Of course our home fans are mostly imbeciles and the effort is lost on the majority, as is the fact that the hostile atmosphere at Goodison has been super counterproductive and has cost us almost as many home points as our second half defending.
I'm sure there's a parallel universe somewhere in which we're doing what Leicester are doing in this reality, with exactly the same team and tactics. I'm fine with Bob staying and rolling the dice again next season, whether or not we win the FA Cup. Like I say, at least it's an honest attempt to drive us forward, and such ambitious plans require trust and time.
