A whole 3 years ago.

and glad that Bournemouth look safe. thought they were done for sure when so many of their best players suffered major injuries. not sure how they managed to survive, but great for them. you'd figure they'll be much stronger next season as well.
The 40 million quid they spent probably helped.

Tbf 2 of those key signings had ACL injuries in their first game.

probably deserve to go down for spending £7m on Lewis Grabban though.

Norwich are bad and were real bad last time too. Wouldn't mind them going, but I certainly wouldn't mind any of the 3 down there now going either.

I was also very surprised Bournemouth managed to stay up quite easily given they lost all of their best players instantaneously. It's tough to pinpoint what has been good enough about them. I guess their defense isn't too bad. Very decent fullback play. Stanislas has some real talent (if not much of a brain). Arter is pretty good as well. Before Afobe they seemed hopeless up front. Ritchie is much maligned around here I think, but he must not be that bad if he was a key creator for them and they have stayed fairly well clear.

I really like Eltbus' work itt. I also love how he has doom-switched Aguero with his fiery takes about him. He is slanking epicly lately.

suggested topics for this international break

- the israel palestine situation
- 'soccer' or 'football'?
- the morality of refusing to wear a poppy
- if nba players played soccer/football (potential tie-in with topic 2)
- islam: religion of peace?
- scottish football
- negrito: does context matter?

I want to know if Cashy believes in the power of psychics and if it's possible to talk to dead people

I thought we could have another symposium on how "world class" should be defined.

There is really no doubt Spurs are the best team in the league this year, ainec..
So the momentum stopped when they drew 0-0 vs Bournemouth, then stopped again with 2-2 to Brom, now you're saying international break is going to slow them down? lololololololololol

I suggest the good old "was the goal scored in the 60th or 61st minute"

Would rather read the entity of the Politics' Israel-Palestine thread than have Scottish football discussed in here.

Spurs fans, what happens when Vertonghen returns from injury? Wimmer has been the perfect replacement..similar to Jan, but a younger version.

As much as I've always been a big fan of Vertonghen, I'm not sure Pochettino should have him start over Wimmer. Any thoughts?

City have played five games in March, and their only goals have come against Aston Villa.

Pep's gonna have to earn that salary.

Well maybe if they had a world class elite super striker who could score hatricks against bayern munich at will they wouldnt be struggling with scoring so much.

imo you're nuts. Wimmer has been a great replacement: Going forward I hope he's of a rotation player than a backup. But man come on. Toby and Vert were the best CB duo in the prem this year, and while Wimmer was mostly fine on the ball, Vert in the buildup is one of the most poised CBs anywhere, which imo is where Spurs are most vulnerable. Vert's also a better pure defender; Wimmer's made some great tackles some of which have made fans wonder "omg could Vert have done that??" and the answer is invariably he wouldn't have had to because his initial positioning and angles are way better. But I def like Wimmer and to think that within the last year Fazio was getting meaningful minutes is crazy.

Wimmer on the bench in a heartbeat.

Not even a discussion. C
