Have to say, I think Vick slipped way too far and was a total steal in the 4th round. I think people are really underestimating how much miles/hits are significant to when a QB hits his decline phase, and I think Vick will still be a Top 10 QB in the league for at least another 4 or 5 years. His injury concerns are a little bit overblown too. Here's his last 6 seasons: 15 GP, 15 GP, 16 GP, 12 GP (as a backup), 12 GP (fighting for starting job), 13 GP. I think he's clearly better than several QBs that went in the first round, namely Cutler, Flacco, and Eli, and I think there's an argument that he's better than Ryan and Romo as well in terms of actually giving you a chance to win a Super Bowl, and not just hang around as a borderline playoff team for a lot of years.

so lets see:

he's play only 1 full season in the past 5, he's been hit more than any qb probably, but he's going to be a top 10 qb for 4-5 years

That's a serious question with the most obvious answer ever. Come on.

He spent 2 years in prison and one year on the bench where he was taking virtually no hits at all, so no I definitely don't think he's "been hit more than any other QB" and nitpicking about whether he played 15 or 16 games is pretty silly. Missing one regular season game's not going to have that big of an effect on the team.

Also think Vick slipped too far but with so few teams remaining that need a QB the logistics of him going "where he should have" (I don't know how to end this sentence).

He was certainly the best available and should have certainly gone before Manning though. I seriously considered him at #47 when I took RG3 as he will always have a mega strong arm that can utilize TRON but ultimately I'm willing to gamble with the younger guy.

This time last year Vick is a top 10 pick.

hell probably continue to look average for at least a few years before he declines as long as he has a great defense, ray rice to hand off to, boldin and smith to throw the ball to. Obviously change one or more of these things and the perception of flacco is skewed towards his true skill level.

Think Vick was the last upper level QB available, and it was a huge steal to be able to trade up and get him.

Yeah, it was a tough decision to be sure. I initially had Eli over Tebow, but both of Tebow's first two seasons were clearly better than any of Eli's first four, so again if you're trying to take chances to win a ring and not just insure mediocrity, I think you have to go with the youth and the upside.

Really, Tebow hasn't been put in a good position to succeed at all with his dearth of receivers, and a system where they rarely let him throw on 1st down, so the level that he progressed over the course of the season is pretty impressive. He's definitely got the potential to grow into an elite-level QB even if it's unlikely whereas I think we've got a pretty good idea of Eli's capabilities and he'll never be a Top-5 QB.

People love to overreact to one season. I guarantee that if we did this draft last year, two of my undrafteds would have gone at least 2 or 3 rounds ahead of Eli.

Flacco probably might get better, I mean there is a ton of room for improvement when you are that awful.
