Graeme Swann is really good imo

Why is he not on TMS/Sky and generally slumming it with budget radio stations?

Seriously, the pitch we are playing on now in the 4th T20, Sodhi was turning it square

Zampa has barely turned it off the square in the 2nd innings. He is basically just a slow bowler who mixes his flight

Awful to watch really, disgrace to spin bowling

His demeanor may be Warnish at times but he spins it more like Kumble on a green top...

Lol I can't remember being tht high on Zampa, I think I was drunk during that series of posts in 2016...

I still think he is a good bowler but it mystifies me how he is successful with getting zero turn on any track

India batting in response to England's seemingly sub-par 205 in trouble at 3/41 and 6/146, with Gill and Kohli out for ducks, but Rishabh Pant saves the day with a brilliant century.

India 7/294 at stumps, Pant 101, Rohit 49, Sundar 60*, Patel 11*

For a while there, I started thinking Australia had a chance to make the Test final.

So Pant drives a nail in Australia's chances of making the world test championship final like he did in Australia.

As for the T20 well we know NZ is cooked now for game 5. I don't think I've seen a stronger 20 or so players to choose from than what the Aussies have got atm for T20 cricket.

That umpire decision and DRS review for the Pant bowled appeal will decide the game

England 6/74 chasing 160 to avoid an innings defeat, 38 overs left in the day.

Bairstow with yet another duck. Hist last 10 innings against India: 15 & 0, 6 & 0, 0 & 18, 0 & 0, 28 & 0. His career average is down to 34.12, his lowest since January 2016.

Earlier in the day, just the third time in Test history that the 7th wicket (113) and 8th wicket (106) both produced century partnerships. Washington Sundar stranded on 96* thanks to Axar Patel getting run out, stupidly leaving his crease when Washi hit the ball straight to short mid-on. India lost their last 3 wickets in 5 balls and there was nothing Washi could do about it.

get into their tail with an 80-120 lead, lose by an innings anyway

Final nail in the coffin perhaps but thinking there would be a different result if that decision was different would be pretty wishful thinking

You can hardly call it the tail when you've got pant and ashwin in with sundar to follow

How is nobody here talking about Pollard hitting six sixes to a bowler who took a hat-trick in his previous over?

That was a ridiculous innings by West Indies

would like to have seen dickwella celebrate a hat trick tbh

Yep that was impressive, Pollard has always been destructive

I really looking forward to this now... I hope both teams get a 4 day game or 2 to warm up for it

I have several complaints about that game

1. Finch can't be batting like he is Mark Taylor with a minimum score in mind and think he has got the captaincy and bowlers to defend it as I reckon 40% of the time it just isn't enough.
2. You can't bat Stonis in the middle overs. He either comes in at the first 6 or you leave him for the last 5 because he just isn't busy enough whether rotating the strike or getting 2s. After 3 years of talking about this for Stonis I shouldn't have to keep bringing this up.
3. Instead of Stonis Mitch Marsh should have been in as he was padded up ready to bat after the fall of the 1st wicket.
4. Once more you don't double down like the Aussies did and compound problems by bringing in Agar before Marsh and that was like the 13th or 14th over mark I believe - Agar is again final overs only and definitely behind Marsh no matter this left hand/right hand combination that the Aussies seemingly want.
5. Wade should have opened the batting. I don't think you should be tinkering with a team that has worked even though Wade himself hasn't scored too many runs as opener before today.
6. Better final overs awareness. Richardson batting with Marsh has to be sitting on his bat and declining singles in the final over and letting Marsh take strike.

ABD,

thank you for referring me to Jarrod's channel - just watched the piece on India in Australia and simply could not stop laughing :-)

Yeah that was a crazy game indeed.

1st Over: 1 . 6 6 6 .
3rd Over: 1w 4 2nb 6 4 . 4lb .
4th Over: 4 W W W 1 4
6th Over: 6 6 6 6 6 6
7th Over: 2 . 1 W W .

As crazy as the Windies start was, I thought the end to their innings was contrastingly weird. 98 off the first 6 overs, then their remaining overs went 3 (runs), 9, 1, 5, 3, 7, 2, 6.

Gayle's last 12 T20I innings: 4, 5, 4, 18, 40, 12, 0, 18, 15, 5, 0, 16. It says a lot about West Indies cricket that a 41yo is getting a game.

I know people here care much more about test cricket than the other forms but I'm genuinely curious as to how England will fare tomorrow in the T20I vs India.

Normally I'd back England's limited overs team vs anyone but I'm a little less confident it being in India, vs India and with what's just happened in the test series.

Just checked the betting line and India are a small favourite but I also found a bet that seems like decent value (it's not, but it seemed it)

I kinda already knew, but the lack of activity in this thread has reaffirmed the fact that people only care about test matches that involve their country.

Cricket Podcasts

What do you listen to?

I've recently added a couple because I'm no longer working from home and the commute is giving me more listening time.

I've got:

Test Match Special - For general news and interviews

Tailenders - Light hearted and comedic

Golden Ducks Podcast - Couple of enthusiastic amateurs giving the "guy on the street" opinion to things. Same sort of content covered as TMS a lot of the time but a different perspective.

Red Inker - This is a new addition. I've like Jarod Kimber's videos for quite a while and thought I'd give this a whirl. Should be pretty insightful.

History of Cricket - Another new addition. Short episodes going through the older test matches/test series. Listened to the 1877 episode and it's decent enough. There's 100+ episodes and the most recent one is "1953 Ashes - Year of the Barnacle" Will be something I dip into from time to time.

Happy enough with those because they all do something slightly different.

I don't have the time to listen to more than a couple of podcasts and cricket would be way down the list of priorities, probably would pick the Guerilla Cricket one first given I listen to them for live games, but never heard it myself
