Whenever you see 14 wickets fall in first day of a test match, you’ve got to question the wicket before anything else.
Had that happened in county cricket, the pitch inspectors would’ve paid a visit.

For those of a certain age, the Clive Lloyd / Harry pilling batting partnerships were the most ridiculous and beautiful things ever

Harry Pilling? You really are drunk. They were the Crouch and Wright-Phillips of Lancashire. To say it was a beautiful thing is ridiculous though.

Go away

I will, good luck with the adjusted bowling statistics. I am not drunk I am suffering from an agonising mental breakdown.

Before I do I would like to point out that my post did already contain the word “Ridiculous “, which seems to suggest that you have a slight reading comprehension problem ,

Ah, it wasn't Broad GOATing at Trent Bridge, it was the wicket

Looks like it was a pretty good test match pitch then.

So Australia have to hope for a tight series between India and England to get through to the Test Championship final.

If nobody wins the series by more than 1 game then Australia go through otherwise it's either England or India

But let's face it, it's going to be India (would love to be proved wrong on that)

Australia deserve not to make it after that Indian series. Since the SA Tour has been abandoned, it is the perfect time to get rid off Paine.

India v England 4 Test Series begins tomorrow morning

As ever I really don’t give England a hope, especially with India caring so much about tests right now, would be good to pick up a solitary win and not be completely demoralised before the white ball games

I’ve had a bet on Root top series batsman

First free to air test since the 2005 ashes.
Good to have it back. I grew up watching test matches on BBC2 and built up a ridiculous knowledge of cricketers initials that would've been a great test on ‘You Bet’

Vaas' initials from memory?

WPUJ. That was easy, but not it my time period.
The mid 80s to 90s were my time.

Who has the initials:
A.R.C (eng)
C.G. (WI)
R.G.D (eng)
P.I. (eng) tough one
V.P. (eng) tough

Larry Gomes and Gus Logie were always fun ones as their initials don’t match the first names they were known by. H.A and A.L respectively.
Same, of course for Jack Russel, who is R.C.

Because TV coverage used to only show initials and surnames, lots of players ended up being known purely for their initials.
Ian Botham was regularly referred to as IT Botham.
Michael Smith is only ever referred to as MJK

R.G.D. Willis
C.G. Greenidge

Is A.R.C. Alan Knott?

Felt sorry for the guys with only one initial
